Fraxel Horribly Wrong - Scarred

I had really good skin but some spots and discolouration and wanted that young beautiful clear skin that I researched so much about. I researched heaps, had a very experienced doctor and knew what to expect during and after. But my face looked NOTHING any of the photos immediately after the treatment. I looked like a burn victim for five days after the treatment. Even in photos under. "Fraxel Fail" there was nothing as bad as I looked. There was no preparation that this might happen and no way for e to expect this given all the research. Now, three weeks post the procedure and I have yet to be able to go out of the house. Today, my face is scarred and I don't know if it's permanent or not. The doctor says it could be months!!! And that it could be my skin. It IS NOT my skin because, in places where he did not use the Fraxel so intensely, there is no scarring at all. The scars are because of his misuse of the Fraxel. Again, I had no problems with my skin, I just wanted to look better. And now, I can't even go out of the house. I am beyond devasted.

Hi. Thank you for sharing your experience. I have deep acne scars. I know it's not possible to get rid of them. I just want to improve the scars and the overall texture of my skin. I tried something soft - fraxel instead of CO2. I had 2 times of fraxel 1550nm. The first time was done on low settings. Nothing really happened to my skin. The second time was done on a higher settings. No improvement as well, and I was left with the fraxel markings after even 4 months. It was very dissappointing. I will never do laser on my face anymore. I understand how you feel. It is 6 months post fraxel and the fraxel markings are dissappearing (slowly But surely). I give my body some time to heal - healthier diet, less stress, enough sleep, drink water and good skincare products.

Did you go to a spa or a dermatologist /plastic surgeon? I’m considering having it done, I’ve read that complications are caused by inexperienced providers, thanks

Don't do it. It has nothing to do with the doctors. The laser treatments damage your skin and it takes all the oils out of your skin, turns it a lot darker, and you skin looks burned afterwards.

I have also had laser done and I'm a year and a half and it only gets worse. I wish people could see these reviews before they do it. Did you have one or more treatments?

So sorry to hear about your experience. Looks like you also had surgery on your eyelids at the same time as the fraxel? Did you have several procedures at the same time? How are you doing now?

God bless you for sharing. I am a woman of a certain age getting insecure. Options seem scary. I have a faulty memory but will remember Ax to FrAXel. When I saw your weeping burns I felt so sorry. Stay strong. Hope you further heal.
