24 days after Fraxel Dual and Medi Inject

How I wish I could turn back time and NOT get this treatment. My face has not been the same. The stinging has subsided but I can still slightly feel it especially around my mouth. Lips are so dry and hurt a bit. Skin is still flushed red especially when I wash it. I have also had alot of breakouts which is not normal for me. The sun spots I had before this treatment have faded. I am very careful to always have alot of sunscreen on. And I still have a bruise on my right cheekbone. Am waiting for the day to feel normal again. To not feel like a stranger in my own skin. Still have not heard of anyone having this experience.

Fraxel Dual and Medinject

11 days ago I got Fraxel Dual and Medinject. I have a scar on my cheek and some sun spots and I saved so I could do this for myself. I am 55, in great health. This is a lot of money but I wanted to do something for myself. I was very careful when choosing my doctor. I picked a doctor that I really respected with over 30 years of experience and I have used for other procedures.

When I arrived they put numbing cream all over my face for an hour. The nurse also drew my blood so she could use thePRP in the medinject. Once I was finished with that, they took me to the treatment room. My doctor did not want me to feel any pain so he additionally gave me 2 shots of dental block which hurt so much. Then the procedure began. The fraxel dual didn't take too long and I could feel it slightly but it was tolerable. Once the fraxel was complete, my doctor started with the medinject. He said the mixture was PRP , vitamin C, Hylauranic acid , and skin brighters. The Medinject is a micro needling device with 9 needles and as he moved it across the face the mixture would come out. This hurt like hell. So he gave me another shot. I was numb but I could still feel the needles especially on my upper lip. It was excruciating. Once he was done. I looked at my face and it was horrific. bloodied and my top lip was triple its normal size. I also could see that where he gave me the shot, that my eye was already going black,.

The first night my face swelled up like I could never have imagined. My eyes were almost swelled shut when I woke up and my cheeks were enormous as well as my lip and jaws. I was very sore and terrified. I thought this was a relatively easy procedure with a quick healing time. Each day I had horrible pain. Stinging under my skin especial around my mouth. As the my skin peeled off from the Fraxel dual underneath I was bruised everywhere. I have had a very hard time. My doctor has been very caring but he said that he has not had someone react this way. Each day has been trying. I have lost 7 pounds and I am very worried. Day 11 and I still have slight bruising, horrible burning feeling around my entire mouth. my face is gritty and dry and I feel hopeless like this is my new normal. My lips are also incredibly dry. I have scoured the stories looking for someone else who reacted like this so I can get a gage as to whether I am going to ever be normal again. My face is not smooth. It is red with little bumps that sting and dry. I am only writing this incase someone else experiences this and I might be able to update them if I ever get through this. I also am so sad that I have to go to work with my face like this. I am hoping my doctor is correct when he says it will be ok.
