Fractora ruined my skin

It’s been a while! Over a year post-fractora now and I can’t say it’s all better. Honestly, I still have a lot of red/pink marks- these are proving extremely difficult to get rid of. The scarring is still present on my right cheek- a lot of the “track marks” that they swore would go away did not, and in fact have remained on my cheek as permanent scarring. Overall, I feel like I truly lost a year of my life. Sounds so dramatic, I know, but having your face be a mess truly destroys your confidence and it made me not want to go anywhere. No pools, no beaches...ugh. Anyway, I’m looking in to getting a series of chemical peels done to try and speed up the process now that it’s healed as well as it’s going to heal on it’s own, and hopefully that will help. I’ll add pics when I can :)
And thanks to everyone who has commented/suggested things/shared their story! It’s so nice to have the support and not feel so alone!

Pic w/o makeup

A couple weeks later, here is a pic of the scarring/marks without makeup. This is right after I wake up; as the day progresses they look darker (the more active I am the more blood flow is there). This is the "best" that they can look. Concealer helps hide them but doesn't do the trick completely. Hoping that in a few more months time they've faded enough to where concealer will completely cover them.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I had Fractora RF as well and like yours it did nothing positive but instead left track marks from he machine and my pores seem red and bigger, or the red makes them more noticeable. I paid A LOT more than you and feel totally robbed. Anyway what I wanted to tell you was the clinic gave me a bleaching cream which helped quite a bit with the track marks and red pores (though not totally), and now that I have to have better make up to cover the mess they made of my face I found a great makeup called bye bye red by IT cosmetics, they have their own website you can buy from or I get mine on QVC.com. Good luck and hope you continue to heal.

Just from the photos your skin looks better now that before treatment. The healing time sucks but you look better! I can't see any tracking at all

Hi, I have read your reviews and am wondering what does your skin look like now. Has it healed yet? How long has it been for you since your last fractora? My doc has recommended getting deep fractora along with micro-needling but seen negative reviews about fractora, I am hesitant. Although I understand that at a deep level skin takes about 4 months to heel properly and that is the case with fractora. However, I still hold my hesitation and wish to avoid fractora at all. I am in Illinois, the cost of fractora is genuinely about $270 per treatment, given that scars as your self-need about 3 - 4 fractora treatments. I have similar scars on cheeks and jaw line.

Correction: Fractora cost is $1500 per treatment here, I was given an inaccurate quote. I am still not leaning toward Fractora, it's costly, it's slow, and it has negative outcomes. I wonder why didn't you go for Microneedling. Best of Luck.

It's been 5 months now, and I still have so much discoloration from the scabs fractora left me. My pores are larger, I have actual scars from the fractora that weren't there before...overall my skin looks aged and just all around awful. If I could go back in time I'd never have it done again.

I am very hesitant too, although the Dermetologist assured me that it will heal in 4 months and my skin will be better. However, my heart still do not believe that it's true. I am sorry for your suffering and I wish I can offer you more than just sympathy. However, should you think of microneedling as it is cheaper and more effective. I understand how tough it can get living with acne and scar face. People are always commenting, critizing, mocking at our natural condition but I have always kept my chin up and haven't paid attention on what others think. However, I do care about healing these scars and getting a clear face for myself. I wish you luck. Word of advice, change your diet if you have t already. Go off of dairy completely, adapt paleo diet, it's super helpful. My acne has been so calm ever since I've been on this diet, past 3 months exact.

Thank you!
I'm actually researching microbeedling now- I've heard and seen great things.
As for dairy, I finally cut it out completely...cheese was the hardest to do! But since then I've seen a HUGE improvement on active acne..I rarely break out anymore! It's now a matter of dealing with this scarring. Good luck to you as well :)

My doctor quoted $350 per treatment for micro-needling. And I've seen great results and have read positive reviews. I'm a scientist and I do not just jump into things without proper Research. I will be going in for my microneedling treatment sometime next week. I can share post procedure outcome with you. My doctor also told me about isolez which cost about $250 per treatment but that's something I am
Not considering either. I will keep you posted. Good luck.

I had fractora in may, I had mark and reddens over my face, the marks disappeared within days of the procedure, I have a lot of acne scar nd bienes others I wanted to fade, but the only thing that I noticed different was that, I stopped completly having acne or a few months and my skin seemed tighter. The doctor that I the procedure said it was mostly to toot the skin and not or brown spots...( I wish he told me that before paying $900 for the procedure). Iwouñd t to it again I didn't de any difference in my spots. Good luck!

I had a botched Fractora treatment as well! I went to a Plastic Surgeon's office and had the treatment from a nurse. I assumed I had done enough research. I did get my money back after my botched treatment as they knew they did not have the expertise to help me.
I am 5 months post treatment, and I am now left with just melasma & hyperpigmentation which looks like carpet burn along my jawline (where she said she did a more intense treatement). I also have 3 vertical dents or "trackmarks" in my forehead which I am constantly scared are permanent scars. I wore a custom-strength tri-luma creme (6% hyrdoquinoin) my dermatologist made me at night for 3 months, and need to take a break from it now for 3 months. I have just finished my second Perfect Derma Peel. Although it's already been 5 months past, I think it will take another 3 months of Tri-Luma and another peel to fix this all - if it's fixable. For any really deep track-mark dents, a doctor told me (assuming this is "off label" but works) I could poke them with a sterilized sewing pin once a week to stimulate my collagen - and that has helped them tremendously. I would definitely recommend the tri-luma and 3 of the the Perfect Derma Peel if you have not already!

I am almost 6 months post treatment. I also have deep pit marks along my jaw line and track marks in my forehead and hyper pigmentation, as well as vertical scars all over my face. I have had Matrix and IPL which has helped with the scaring. My plastic surgeon said it would take a year for my skin to heal but it will never be the same. Was your fractora done by Invasik?

My skin is healing but it is a sloooow process. I see no difference whatsoever in my original scarring so the only thing fractora did was create horrible uneven skin tone (and it left new scarring too). Worst money I've ever spent. I still have a ton of red marks (luckily they've faded into a red and the deep purple color is gone). At this rate I'm estimating a good 8-12 months for these spots to be almost completely gone. Really, really sucks but it is what it is. I still break out occasionally (more than I ever did before but I'm not sure if the fractora has anything to do with it).
Still have some track marks from the machine and at this point I'm starting to worry if they're permanent.
Some pics to update you, though I DO HAVE LIGHT MAKEUP ON, so my scarring is more red/apparent than what these pics show. Don't have any recent ones w/o makeup. I'll try to add some later.

Fractora as a treatment isnt the culprit that left you with marks and major disappointment. Fractora when performed properly using the correct tips and settings is am amazing treatment. I have seen results that diminish scarring, improve overall texture, tone and take 15 years off. You should not have smelled burning skin or been left with marks for weeks.

I'm sure it is a great tool in the right hands...I've seen before/after pictures where people had fantastic results. Mine was definitely caused by operator error I believe, although the clinic refuses to believe that. They think my skin "just didn't respond properly." I think they were way too aggressive and this was the result. If anything fractora has aged my skin tremendously; aside from new scarring and dark marks, my pores seem stretched out and larger. Never had an issue with my pores before this.

Let's be clear on this. Factora works for some people and not on others. I spoke with a plastic surgeon and he said he is seeing more burns with this type of treatment on thin women. These treatments work off of the fluid in your body and the fat. Anything can go wrong.
