Wish I had done it sooner

Forgot to post an update: Despite the initial pain and scary look of my first treatment I am thrilled with the results after my second and third treatments. So worth it! Plus healing time speeds after your first treatment so I was able to face the public within a few days after my third treatment. Highly recommend for anyone with acne and sun damage.

Frac3 and Micropeel Laser Treatment for Scarring & Sun Damage - 33 Years Old

At home getting stir-crazy on my third day of recovery from fractionated resurfacing. Had my first session of Frac3 and micropeel (Fontona laser) performed late afternoon Wednesday to treat two decades of acne scarring and sun worship. I arrived early for a 4pm appointment and was grateful for 30-40 minutes of the numbing cream as I wasn’t expecting the laser to be as uncomfortable as it was. Although, during the lasering process, which lasted ~30-40 min, the worst part was the slight smell of burning flesh. Afterward, my technician provided an aftercare kit and instructions, applied SPF to my face and mentioned the cool air would likely feel good on my face as I walked the 2km back home.
During my walk, my face felt tight and warm but nothing worse than a bad sunburn. I avoided eye contact with passerby’s and wore dark sunglasses as I journeyed down a busy street at rush hour. After arriving home, I looked in the mirror and realized my face had been pinhole bleeding and dried blood was all over my face. ??????? Thank goodness I’m new to the area and wouldn’t have passed anyone I knew but I’m sure a few people at crosswalks were wondering WTF!?
After that I decided not to leave the house until I look halfway normal and have been thankful for DoorDash. The first evening was difficult to sleep as the coating of thick aquafor made it difficult to get comfortable as I don’t normally sleep on my back. Thursday and Friday my face continued to get more red, rough in texture and significantly more puffy (apparently from activated collagen production). It’s now Saturday afternoon and I’m finally seeing the light at the end of this itchy-red-puffy-faced tunnel. The skin is finally starting to slightly slough off and the redness is subsiding.
The six-part photos feature my progress over the past few days. The three images on the top are from Weds: with makeup, without makeup and after the treatment (and my embarrassing walk home). The bottom three images (left to right) are from Thurs, Fri and Sat (today).
Feel like I’m over the worst of the recovery. I’m also grateful my husband is out of town this week and look forward to what tomorrow will bring.
