1 Week Later...
I'm 1 week and 2 days post-op and things are going GREAT! My energy is slowly coming back. And by slowly, I mean that I get this rushing feeling like I'm raring to go, get to going, and peter out quicker than I expect. I'm still taking things very slow and easy. Yesterday I loaded the dishwasher and had the greatest feeling of satisfaction knowing I helped out a little with the housework. As for the twins...they're healing very nicely! I went for my first post-op appointment on Friday. Dr. Steele was still on vacation, as expected, so Nurse Cathy assisted by removing my bandages and fitting me with the 4 options of bra sizes I brought with me. I bought them before surgery knowing I wouldn't want the hassle and pain of being fitted at Victoria Secret days after surgery. Great decision on my part! I wore the winner out of the Dr's office with instructions to wear it 24/7 for the next month and exchanged the others for that same size in different colors. Last night was the first night I slept in my bed and it was GLORIOUS after a week in my pillow cocoon on the couch. I'm having minimal pain and only taking Tylenol during the day and a valium at night to keep me asleep. My finger's are crossed for tomorrow as I head into the office for the first time since surgery. I won't have the luxury of taking a 10 minute ice pack lay down when I need it throughout the day.
Day 3 - Morning boob is real!
So I woke up this morning and the twins felt like they were rock hard and super sore. They swelled up over night and stiffened up like crazy. A couple of vicodin, a valium, and 2 ice packs later and they started to relax. They hardly hurt at all and I can't keep my hands off them! No massaging yet at least until my first post-op on Friday, but dang it feels nice to finally have boobs....even if they aren't quite the right shape yet :)
Day 2 - more discomfort than pain
Day 2 was a little rough. It was hard to get up to use the restroom, and then hard to pee when I finally did get up. I think my bladder had a hard time waking up from anesthesia. Tripled my trips to the restroom and made it through the day. Lots of swelling and tightness, but not a lot of actual pain.

So far my interactions with Dr. Steele and his staff have been wonderful! I first reached out to him through RealSelf. He responded back within a few hours, himself! on a Sunday! He's been so kind and gentle, but extremely thorough and seemingly thoughtful in the process of measuring me and helping me choose a size that will fit ME. It doesn't much matter to him that I have my ideal "wish" boobs. He tells it how it is, and that what I have is what I have - implants will enhance ME. I like that approach.
