The Best Team I Could’ve Found!
Stats: 24 years old, no kids, 5’4”, and 115 pounds. Usually wore a 34A-32B in bras depending on the brand.
Apologies for the long review but I hope this will be helpful for anyone considering a BA with Dr. Camp!
I have always thought about breast augmentation because I felt my upper body was not proportional to my lower body. I usually wore extra small - small tops but a size 5 for jeans. I spent a lot of time on Real Self, Instagram, and Google reading reviews, learning about implant size, shape, profile, etc. I remember watching a YouTube vlog about a girl who went through the 24 hour recovery process. I had never heard of this before and was intrigued. I knew then that I had to find a surgeon who offered this technique.
Dr. Camp’s page popped up on Real Self and I noticed all of his reviews were excellent. I browsed through his website to learn more and decided to schedule a consultation. I received a call on 08/25 from his office. Becky went over the details and scheduled me for the next available consultation, which originally would not have been until 10/03. Dr. Camp performs his surgeries on Monday, Thursday, and Friday so all of his consultations and follow up appointments occur on Tuesday and Wednesday. Becky was sweet enough to let me know she would put me on the waitlist if anything sooner came up. I paid my $100 consultation fee over the phone, which is credited towards your procedure. I was then sent a few digital forms to fill out prior to my consultation.
I must have been really lucky because the next day Becky called me to let me know she had an opening for 08/29. She told me I was the first person she contacted so I felt really grateful. I later learned that Dr. Camp’s entire team is just so incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable in providing quality services.
The day of my consultation, I arrived at Dr. Camp’s office, which is nicely decorated and very clean. I was greeted in a prompt manner and signed a few more forms on a tablet. I was given a folder with plenty of information, FAQs, and some promotional materials. I liked that Dr. Camp’s office had a phone charging station and free coffee, which is always a nice perk. Overall, the entire office is very vibrant and sleek, which is nice because no one wants to be in a dull office.
I was taken to another private room where I would discuss with the nurse Liz what I was looking for and details about my lifestyle. Liz went over what the consultation would look like and even talked about some of the offers I had in my folder. She then went to go get Dr. Camp. Dr. Camp made me feel very comfortable by discussing my options in great detail, the procedure itself, and how my operation would go very smoothly. What I liked best was that he immediately asked about my tattoo “La Belle Époque” and we were able to talk about Midnight in Paris for a bit. Usually doctors are not so personable and try to rush patients out, but you could tell Dr. Camp really cares about earning trust with his patients. I was then asked to undress my upper body (robe provided) to take several measurements and photos including the 3D Vectra ones.
Dr. Camp had me sit next to him as he showed me how Vectra imaging worked. He then provided his recommendation based on what he thought would be ample for my body. He suggested:
Type: Silicone
Brand: Natrelle Inspira SoftTouch (gummier)
Size: 295 cc
Shape: Smooth
Profile: High profile
Placement: Under the muscle
Incisions: Along the boob crease
He also projected what 345cc and 325cc would look like. It was hard for me to tell since a 25cc difference is not very noticeable. I was torn between the 295cc and 325cc since I heard all sorts of different things like if it is placed under the muscle you lose 30cc or your implants will get bigger as they drop and fluff. Everyone’s body is different so I would recommend letting your surgeon know specifically what you are trying to achieve so they could tell you realistically what your body can handle. I ultimately chose the 325cc a few days before my surgery because of FOMO boob greed lol.
After my consultation, I was taken to another room to speak with Kelly, the patient care coordinator. I told her I wanted to do the procedure as soon as possible. Originally the earliest she could do was 09/10. However, I asked if there was any way for her to squeeze me for 09/07 since my bf would be in town to take care of me. Kelly then went ahead to go make some calls to the hospital and came back saying we got the spot! I was so happy!! Kelly then went over some documents with me including the cost and my payment options.
This was the total breakdown for my procedure:
Procedure fee: $4550
Anesthesia fee: $550
Facility fee: $700 (paid directly to hospital, cannot use care credit)
Total: $5800 - $100 consultation credit = $5700
I thought this price was extremely reasonable given Dr. Camp’s work and reputation. I am from NYC and I understand this procedure could cost several thousands more elsewhere. In fact, it seems that many people from large cities fly to the DFW area to get work done. I was already pre approved for CareCredit, which is essentially a credit card you could use for treatments, procedures, etc. I paid part of the procedure with my own money and then the rest with CareCredit. They have a promotion going on where you will be charged 0% interest if you pay the balance within 12 months. I later called the hospital as well to pay the facility fee over the phone so I would save some time on the day of my surgery. CareCredit is great for those who really would like a procedure or treatment but cannot afford to pay the cost all at once. I would highly recommend checking it out!
Once Kelly was done processing my charges, I quickly went over some important information with Stacy. This included pre and post surgery instructions, list of medications to avoid, etc. I was given business cards to call in case I had any further questions. As I was leaving the office, I was given a beautiful surgery goodie bag! I was so excited for my procedure and felt confident that I made the right decision in choosing Dr. Camp and his team.
