My follow up appointment on July 6th went well. I was never so happy to see a doctor. He pulled both drains out...which is an experience in itself. I turned white as a sheet. The thought still gives me the shivers. He took out some of the stitches from my belly button and gave me persmission to take a shower the next day. Funny this is...I was kinda afraid to look at my belly. Not sure why, but I was hesitant to take the binder off. I took a shower and made it through.

I returned to my office job on July 9th. It wasn't to bad of a week, but I was definitely tired each day. It didn't help that I had a 4 & 6 yr old to take care of in the evening. The kids were great and patient with their slow walking momma.

My 2 week followup on 7/13 went well. He took out the remaining stitches from my belly button. And told me to wear the binder for another 2 1/2 weeks. The binder is the most uncomfortable thing I've ever worn. If it's not chaffing my chest is chaffing way down under. How can anyone wear it longer than the recommended time period? I'm going shopping for some spanx garments soon. I'm thinking of using the tank top looking garment...its got to be better than this binder. All in all, the tummy tuck was worth it. Glad I had it done.

I'm happy to say that I made it through the most nerve wracking experience of my life. The 2 days of "drug fog" helped me get through the most uncomfortable part. I made up for 13 years of lost sleep. lol

I am ready for my follow up appointment on Friday. The drains are the most annoying part. I drained alot the 1st 2 days, but now little is coming out and I have 4 more days to deal with tubes. I guess it's my test of relaxing and not pulling the tubes out accidently.

I'd do this again in a heart beat. I found out that I actually had 3 hernias, not 1 like the dr estimated at my 1st appointment. I probably saved myself some damage from my active lifestyle.

Anyone who is considering a tummy tuck should approach this procedure with a positive attitude and some grit.

I'm a 40 yr old mom of 3 kids. Who are 13, 6 & 4. I love my kids to death, but the last 2 have done a number on my stomach. Though, the 1st didn't help. I have been an athlete since I can remember...softball & tennis were my 1st loves. I am 5'2" and 130. The last 3 years I have been working out religiously. I have trained and ran 5 half-marathons, 2 Tough Mudder and 2 Warrior Dashes. I am a BeachBody coach and have completed, Insanity and p90x. Through all of this, I have yet to lose my baby pouch, due to a hernia and muscle seperation. I can do all the workouts in the world, but they were never going to take care of the hernia or muscle seperation. So, this year, I decided to take care of the 1 thing that bothers me...my stomach. Alot of people think I'm crazy and that "I look fine." Well, I want to look finer and not have my "MAJOR outie" belly button rubbing all over the place. It's not fun when you are jumping around to p90x and you hear your belly flapping...I'm at my idea weight yet I still have the extra skin. I have been reading everyones profiles on this site trying to wrap my mind around what I signed up for. I'm pretty sure I'll be ok, but reading all the comments and profiles have helped me realize that it will be all good. I'll recover and continue on my fitness quest.

My PS is out of Fort Wayne. He seems very kind and considerate in getting my the best results. A friend of mine knows the lead nurse at the surgery center. I was assured that I will be well taken care of.

My surgery is set for June 28th at 7:30am.

I have had 3 positive experiences with Summit Plastic Surgery, with 3 different dr's from this group. My 2 sons were taken care of by SPS. My recent tummy tuck experience with Dr. Shambaugh continues my confidence in this group.
