45 YO, 70 Pound Weight Loss Arm Lift and BA
ORIGINAL POST
Have always been a bit overweight but the age of40...
WORTH IT$6,000
Have always been a bit overweight but the age of40 hit me hard and added 40+ pounds. Started dieting, running, doing a crazy amount of exercise, and 5 years later, I have FINALLY dropped 70 pounds. I'm still about 10 or 15 pounds over my ideal weight. Yo yoing weight and having 2 kids has really stretched some of my skin and deflated my breasts. I was a D cup at my heaviest but felt very comfortable at a C cup. I've been wanting a change for a while and decided this was my time to do it. I had a breast augmentation and brachioplasty on December 14 in Fort Wayne with Dr. Severinac.
The BA healing has been a piece of cake compared to the brachioplasty. Unable to feed myself or do much for myself for several days. Thank God my husband was with me for 4 days. After my first PS appointment and after we changed the bandages, I was able to GENTLY bends my arms to feed and clean myself. Went back to work on Day 5 and I think it was too early. Had a lot of nerve-waking-up pain on all 3 days I worked (office job but had to work 12+ hours each of those days). Then had a few more days off and now starting to feel a lot better on Day 11. I'm keeping my arms elevated and resting a lot, but starting to feel more normal. Still being VERY VERY gentle as I can feel my stitches pulling whenever I use my arms.
The weird thing is my forearms, which weren't cut, have been numb and hurting far more than the area that was cut. I've had to keep forearms wrapped too because they swell if I don't. I would just warn anyone thinking about doing this that the healing takes a lot longer than just a few days and if possible i would take 2 weeks off of work for it.
But so far, so good with both procedures. Everything looks great and I'm very pleased. I will likely still need a breast lift but I'll wait until they drop and fluff to make my final decision. The doctor did warn me that I would probably feel that way, but he didn't want to do the lift and augmentation at the same time and I trust him. Already, my arms look fantastic. Dr. Severinac in Fort Wayne has been fantastic.

Arms are definitely better, but still FAR from normal. I have only the upper half wrapped for the most part, since I have to be able to type and do other things using my lower arms, but the lower arms are definitely swelling because of this. Hopefully I won't end up needing an arm lift on my lower arms next after all this is over! I also still have a decent amount of nerve-waking-up pain throughout the entire arm especially when I even GENTLY stretch my arms. The stitches on the upper arms are also still very sensitive and burning quite a bit. I saw a Realself review yesterday where a lady was holding her arms up to show the scar, and the picture was labeled 12 days PO. Well, I am far from that. MAYBE by day 21 I will be able to do that. My follow-up is in 4 days and I can't wait. My 21 day point will be a few days after that, and I'm supposed to be able to keep my wraps off. I'm crossing my fingers but starting to wonder if maybe I'm a slow healer.

Went for my check up 2 days ago and he removed the tape and wraps. My arms feel much better now. Still some nerve pain and some stretching pain but much better than before. I'm really pleased with how my arms look. Going to start scar treatment in a few days.
