It's been over a year now and I'm completely healed. I still experience swelling behind my belly button somettimes. I still have numbness around my belly button as well. I am glad that I decided to get a tummy tuck. The only thing I would change is I wish I would have picked a surgeon who would do liposuction during the surgery as well. Other than that I am happy with everything and am so glad to not have that extra skin anymore.

I am at three months right now. Did you notice a big difference in results from three months to over a year? I'm truly hoping I am not at my final results yet. Still would like to go down another inch or two and be done with the daily swelling.

around 6 months is when I quit seeing changes. Even over a year later I still get some swelling. I feel like I will probably always have that. I need to work out because I still don't have the tiny waist that I wanted.

You look great! So flat!! I'm over a year post TT too and I'm still numb around my belly button. I'm thinking it's probably always gonna stay numb. It's a fair trade off for a flat tummy IMO and no more muffin top over my jeans :)

Hi! When did you start seeing final results? I'm really hoping I'm not there yet. But it seems like my changes are starting to go the opposite direction.

I think I started seeing final results at 6 months post. But my scar really started to fade and lighten at 12 months post.

I agree! 6 months for me and scar fading around a year. I still hope my scar fades a little more though.

At three months, I am still experiencing a lot of swelling in the muscle repair. It seems like anytime I eat one bite of anything, it bulges there. I'm not sure if that type of swelling is going to go away around the six month mark. That will make me happy if it does

I had a lot of fluid swelling until 4 months post then it slowly started going away and it was much better at 5 months. I'd get a food bulge above my belly button area too. It seemed to get better around 5 to 6 months too. It's just such a big change that your body is going through and it's a long recovery. It will all get better soon. I still feel tight and get a small bulge when I over eat at my favorite restaurant, but it don't look as bad as I feel like it does when I look in the mirror. It's just tight and uncomfortable because of the new muscle repair. My belly muscles had been stretched out for so long, so now that it's tight I gotta make sure I don't over eat or it's uncomfortable for about an hour after I eat. Hang in there, you're in the last stages of recovery, then things will start getting better.

I still get swelling sometimes too but it's not bad.

Dog ear

MeganS85
It's been 4 months? The time has flown by! Getting the tummy tuck has been one of the best decisions I have made. My confidence is so much better than it was before. I'm still self conscious and probably won't be wearing a bikini or anything. I just have too many stretch marks and most bottoms don't cover my scar. My scar has faded a lot but it still has a way to go.
I'm pretty sure I have a dog eat on the left side. The PS doesn't do anything about those until a whole year has passed. But they way she was talking was like mine wasn't bad. And yes standing up it doesn't look bad but when I lay down it looks really bad. I guess we will see what she says when a whole year has passed.

You look great! I love how flat your tummy is. :) and your scar is fading nicely. I'd definitely have her fix the dog ear if it's still bothering you in 5 months. I've seen many reviews where it's fixed easily with local anesthesia in the office so no extra fees or charges.

I'm definitely flat! I just wish I didn't have so many stretch marks. Haha. Oh well! I hope the scar will fade completely white eventually. It has faded a lot bits hard to remember that until I see pictures. I hope she will fix the dog ear. She said if we did it would be in her office. Which makes me nervous because I will be awake.

I had TT with MR (no lipo on flanks) 4 weeks ago. PS told me before surgery that he didn't think I needed lipo, but I think I did!!!! I am hoping they'll go down and it's just swelling but my gut says they won't :(
April 6, 2016
That is the one thing I wish I would have done. I didn't get liposuction and I think my tummy would look so much better if I did.

I plan to talk to my doctor about it at my next check up. I've already planted the bug in his ear that I'm not happy. Truly hoping I can get something done without a huge expense. It is a huge regret of mine

I may eventually go back and get liposuction but right now I'll just happy I don't have the saggy skin anymore.

Update

After my surgery I kind of let myself go. I guess I figured since my stomach was flat I didn't have to do anything. I was wrong! I gained 10lbs! And for someone who is 5'2" that is a lot! So for the past few weeks I've been working my butt off eating right and exercising everyday. My husband and I have been doing 21 day fix and I'm down 7lbs. I still want to lose a lot more and I'm so glad my husband is in this with me this time. It's a lot easier to stick to something when you have support.
On a side note: I think I'm forming a dog ear on the left side and I hope she will fix it. I asked her about it in the beginning and she said it would flatten but so far it hasn't. It seems worse to me. I go back at the end of this month and I will see what she says.

Congrats on your weight loss! You look wonderful! I also gained 10 pounds too!!! And that's with eating clean low carb (as I have since 2011). Although...I have been chugging the wine a bit too much probably ;). What is the 21 day fix? I will have to look that one up. I am actually doing a very restricted diet as well. I usually do it once or twice per year to flex my "discipline" muscles, but wasn't able to do it this spring due to the surgery. So here I am...back at it to strip that 10pounds off!

Are you on facebook at all? I keep in touch with a fellow RS comrads from here. Feel free to private message me and maybe we could encourage each other on our weight loss :)

Congrats on shedding that extra weight. I gained 10 lbs after my TT too for the same reasons you did. I've started eating better and lost 6 lbs. and trying to lose the rest slowly. keep it up, you look fabulous!!

Thank you I have fluctuated a lot but am now down to 128 again.

Wow, that's awesome!! I'd love to weigh 128!! :D I'm at 134, and you know when you're only 5'2" 7 lbs makes a big difference!
