4 years ago I had my son. I was 129 lbs before I had him and a size 4. Now I am 130 lbs and have to wear 9-11 just to fit my stomach. I live everyday thinking about my stomach. I hide it pretty well in clothes but it's so uncomfortable. Monday morning I am calling to schedule a consultation and I can't wait but I am also very nervous.

I understand. I'm 20+ years older than you and just had a tummy tuck on 12/18; I did it as a result of menopause/stomach weight gain. What no one really tells you is what you are going to really go through! I'm not saying it's not worth it, but it's no picnic. I had no idea how much care my husband would have to give me for at least the first 3-4 days! I'm on day 9 and he gives me my showers! Read all you can on the site. I find the doctors replies can be contradictory and they are all different in their orders and procedures. I'm sure everyone's pain level is different, but I found it very challenging. I wasn't always in pain when lying down/sitting, but when I was it wasn't fun. You'll have back pain and all kinds of sensations in your tummy area. I had some scar pain that lasted the first 3-4 days, tightness, numbness, tingling, etc. Mobility is important, due to blood clots and recovery, as well as moving your back (when told you can stand up straight) to lightly use/stretch the muscles, otherwise you'll get stiff and it's painful. That's my experience/opinion anyway. The compression garments provided aren't the best, as they ride up. You probably could use additional T-shirts and towels between you and the binder for comfort. You can also get the compression garments on-line. Sorry to be so chatty, but I feel I've had to figure a lot of this out on my own, which is unfortunate. It's a slow, gradual recovery that is not pain free and requires a loyal support system. Good luck.

Good luck to you! Having the procedure done after 3 kids was the best decision I could have ever made. Check out my profile I hope it can be of some inspiration to you.

I'm really excited to see how your tummy looks as you progress, I am considering getting a TT next year when I turn 30, and my "before" pics look just like yours. Good luck with recovery!

Thanks so far I love my new tummy. If I can talk my husband into it I may try to take my binder off later and take some pictures. He's been totally against taking it off. Lol it was really hard for me to find before pictures that looked like me. I found some similar but never could find any I thought looked like mine. Most people my weight didn't seem to have as much skin as I did.

Consultation Scheduled!

I called this morning and scheduled a consultation for Wednesday. I'm very excited/nervous/scared. I've wanted this for 4 years now and never really expected it to happen. I chose a woman doctor. I just feel like I would be more comfortable with a woman doctor.

My consultation went well. First she had me go in a watch a video on how the procedure is done. I had watched a million of these videos on Youtube so for the most part I knew what to expect. The I got to put on the LOVELY black photo panties to take picture. lol They are awful! It was pretty awkward but the nurse taking the pictures was good and helped me laugh and get the humor of the situation. I ended up having to take my husband and both kids with me so of course he was making jokes too.
Next the Doctor came in and explained everything to me. She was very nice and spent lots of time with me. She didn't make me feel rushed at all! I appreciate that because a lot of doctors act like they don't have time for you. She gave me my options and asked me what I would like to accomplish. We decided to do a full tummy tuck and muscle repair with no lipo. I originally wanted lipo but she said most likely I won't need it after it is all said and done.
We scheduled it for March 19, 2015. Our 5 year wedding anniversary! lol Not for mission lose 10 lbs before March!

I live in the fort smith area. Which dr did you choose? I've been trying to find one. I have insurance but don't know if it'll cover the cost. Needing to get with a dr and try to get my 42 yr old body back in some kind of shape. Had 3 csection's and abdominal hysterectomy and finally.lost 40 pounds but the skin is still there.

Dr. Ann Passmore is who I went with. She is really nice, professional, and personable. I think I will really like her! I don't think any insurance pays for a Tummy Tuck.

January 29, 2015
I won't be far behind you! Good luck to you too! I'm only down 3 lbs so far.
February 16, 2015
And now I am up 3lbs! I hope you are doing better than me!
February 16, 2015
I'm up 3 pounds as well lol and I have 19 days left:( I'm getting a treadmill tomorrow so maybe that will help me drop a couple at least! Also have been eating super healthy for the last 3 weeks but have not dropped a pound, so frustrating ....... I told my ps at my original consult that I didn't want lipo of the flanks and that I would just tone that area myself before surgery, but that hasn't worked out so well. Pre op is on the 23 so I will see what he says then! You still have some time to go. Don't worry and I see a lot of woman get motivated after surgery so maybe that will happen to us too!
February 16, 2015
My doctor didn't want to do lipo but I wanted her to. I have to get busy!! Good luck to you too! I want to know how your preop goes. Mine is March 10th. I don't really know what to expect.

I will keep you posted!
