I have always noticed that I looked different than all my friends "down there." I've wanted this procedure for a while now and finally got the guts to do it! No one knows except for my boyfriend. I recommend three things to someone thinking about getting this procedure: tell at least one person because you may need the support and someone to hang out with....schedule this at a time where you can do nothing or lay low for about a week, just incase you need the extra time... and take pictures!! They help you see your own progress. I found Dr. Bloy on RealSelf, read all of his reviews and decided he is the best choice. Before the procedure, Dr. Bloy gave me Bromelian to take for two days prior to surgery because it helps with swelling and bruising. My surgery was at 7 AM on May 28th and I was out of there by 9:30. The first few days are pretty rough, but not as bad as I thought. I just tried to sleep as much as possible. I barely needed my pain pills, I just took a half of one the first two nights before I went to sleep because I was afraid of waking up in pain. It is recommended that you stay in bed for the first 48-72 hours, which can get pretty boring, but Netflix is a great investment! I started taking Epsom salt baths on the second day. I took it easy until I saw Dr. Bloy on May 2nd, 4 days after my procedure. I woke up more bloody than normal, but he said it was from moving around in my sleep and that it was normal. On the 5th day, I walked around a lot and went out to eat, I don't think I was supposed to, but I had an appointment that I couldn't cancel. Day 6 I was really sore, I think from walking around a ton the day before, but I just iced and took epsom salt baths. On day 7, I saw Dr. Bloy again and everything checked out just fine! I actually had a busy day, went to a party (didn't move a lot though) and went to dinner (very uncomfortable sitting in a booth). On day 9 I believe my stitches started dissolving because I noticed places that looked like splits, but I just kept on putting my antibiotic cream and epsom salt baths. Sometimes I would use coconut oil as well because I have read about the healing benefits of it. On days 12 and 13 I noticed a larger looking split, but when I saw Dr. Bloy on day 13, he said it is a result of the stitches dissolving, it's normal, and I am healing wonderfully. I will continue to update my progress, but so far everything is going great!
