WORTH IT
Recently I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer and my surgeon recommended Dr. Dreszer for breast reconstruction. Though I was a little anxious about my procedure, the relaxing environment and beautiful décor of his office, as well as his courteous staff made me feel welcome. Since the first moment I met Dr. Dreszer I felt comfortable and very impressed with his knowledge, expertise, personable manners, and professionalism. Also, the fact that he speaks Spanish made my visit feel more comfortable and made the process much smoother. He explained to me the different types of breast reconstruction surgeries and which would be the better one for me. I loved the fact that he never made me feel rushed and took his time to address all of my concerns and answer all of my questions. Dr. Dreszer performed the superficial inferior epigastric artery (SIEA) flap reconstruction. This is a very specialized procedure that only a few U.S. plastic surgeons are trained to perform. The surgery was a success and I am extremely satisfied and grateful for everything he did. Dr. Dreszer is very passionate about his job and a genuinely cares about his patients. I can't thank him enough for the excellent job he did with my breast surgery. Dr. Dreszer is an amazing, talented, compassionate, and gifted plastic surgeon, but above all else, an excellent human being. I highly recommend him to anyone because to me he is the Best!!
Thank you for sharing your experience here. What was the procedure like for you and how long was your recovery time?
Although it was a bigger surgery, so far my overall experience has been positive. To be under the care of two talented, caring, and compassionate doctors as Dr. Dreszer & Dr. Fletcher really made the difference for me. I feel blessed to have found them to perform this kind of procedure because not all plastic surgeons are trained to do it. My surgery lasted about 6 hours and stayed in the hospital for 6 days. The post-operative recovery was a rough one for me. For many weeks I had a severe pain that could only manage with painkillers. I also couldn’t bend, stand straight, or sleep so well. I came home with 5 JP drains that were really uncomfortable and I had to check for how much liquid was drained and empty the reserves every day. I had my drains in for a total of 14 days and to remove them it was a little painful too. My belly was really and still swollen and puffy, and sometimes hurts around the incision area. It will probably take some months to go away. I also had some minor complication with my wound but was addressed by my doctors quickly and completely. I am 12 weeks post-op and have almost recovered from my surgery. I am off of pain meds and able to bend and stretch almost normally. I am very pleased with my progress because every day I am getting better and better and finally I feel like myself again.
