Misplaced sculptra

Has anyone recovered from sculptra disfigurement? My whole face looks lumpy and scarred. I avoid mirrors as much as I can but I am still in shock after almost three years every time I see myself. It is like I have been in a severe car accident.

I have lost hope that I will get better. These photos are by no means my worst. I am too embarrassed to post my really bad ones but this should give you some idea. My entire face was destroyed.

Sweetheart I know how u feel. My one side is still f*** up I feel like I've lost hope too. The swelling part is Insane. You still have pretty youthful lips. U are still beautiful. Some tightening can improve things even if it's just a 50 percent improvement. I'm looking into mid face lifting because that the area sculptra pulls down. Don't give up . I WONT LET U MY FRIEND; ) PRAYERS TO US SUFFERERS.

Yeah I need surgery but I am afraid i am going to come out even worse or have a bad reaction since my immune system has been destroyed by the polyester

I also have the downward pull of mouth from the heaviness of the sculptra. And ridges of collagen next to the nasolabial folds not in them. The EXILIS can apparently break up scare tissue. This would be your most minimally invasive option.

It will go away with time but that's the thing no one knows exact how long that will take. I been sick 5 years but had 7 viles under a 2 years period . I am much better but fluid still comes and goes

No don't give up. It's fluid and it drains . I was bed rest for 8 month as I was so sick and it came on over night. Pain that can't be explained.
It's much better now but still pulling under one eye and some days gone compleatly.

My issue is the same but with radiesse . Looking at your pictures im on the same road . I guess is only going to get worse. My face is the same swells through out the day burns hurts oh I don't want to even name the symptoms . I was told to accept it . Never .

I can't believe it's been almost three years and I'm still deformed. My lumps are getting larger and I have developed new deformities. I am in a lot of pain. I can't believe I paid a doctor to inject something that not only made me sick but has caused disfigurement. I continue to see my doctor's ads promoting sculptra in my city magazine. Looking back at his reviews on here they come across as so phony. I can't believe I fell for this scam. Does anyone know of a doctor who can remove this without severe disfigurement?

Oh im so sorry to hear this . Try your best on your own to find a honest compassionate doctor who is not greedy and he will do everything he can to help you .

I did sign a consent form but I believed this stuff was harmless and natural like my doctor told me. I've seen so many doctors since trying to get help. Unfortunately the doctor I trust doesn't have enough experience with these types of complications. How are you doing Di34? Do people get better with radiesse ever? I haven't spoken to anyone who has completely recovered from sculptra.

I'm so sorry , I don't know if I will ever feel better but I do know that until today I still have burning pain swelling redness . Pressure in my eye and heat inside ear gets really red . I have scarring as well and white spots that are still very visible .
I pray to God that is not permanent . I was told 18 months dissolves and that is in one month . I never consented to this filler . For that matter I was never informed of the treatment I was misinformed and luck of information sadly even while asking . I cannot believe how so many Dr they turn you away with I never seen it before it's so rare and so on but then more hurtful is that they refuse to acknowledge our symptoms and try to blamed on something else . I will die before I will allow that to happen to me . Under no circumstance will I ever allow someone to ruin my face and think it's ok and tell me just live with it . Never .

I read on line by the dr. who did Michael jacksons dermatological work...that he knows how to remove the lumps from sculptra. you might want to search the internet. good luck!

I just had a lump removed surgically. I tried injections with no luck and wanted to see how it would turn out
They do continue to get bigger and this was the biggest of the bunch so far.
I think the scar will be better than the lump,

Were your lumps hard or soft? I have both types. Who removed yours? None of the doctors I've seen feel comfortable using 5fu/steroids or surgical removal?

My lumps are hard and I have several. I have found many doctors who will remove them. I wonder why you are unable to do so? Unfortunately I keep getting more so not sure if i will wait it out to do more or live with them for a while, but it is awfully tramatic and disappointing that I was injected with something that was never supposed to be used under the eyes.

Unfortunately alot of docs tell us to go back to the surgeon that did it but the original docs deny it and say it can't be sculptra doing that.

In other words most turn us away or say oh u have to wait it out, but eventually u lose patience because it changes your face so much for the ones thst got A lot of swelling and u never see your face the same.

Surgically removing them is invasive and intense. If you are going to do it you will need to find someone who has a lot of experience with this situation.
You should be able to find someone b/c its becomming more common.

My ps offered diluted steroids. Risky but he said he can over diluted but I would need it done a few times so it can be more safe.

I am dealing with memory problems from Botox! Also contact the manufacturer of sculptra, and report your issue, and contact the FDA & report it. You also can contact the medical board in your state and file a complaint against the Dr. They will investigate him, and perhaps he will lose his license. I'll tell you from personal experience once you contact your state medical board your doctors going to be so scared he'll bend over backwards to treat you or give you money !!!!!
That said, I was wondering if the OP had ever tried any sort of laser skin treatment? I had filler on my face and later purchased a series of laser skin treatments which pretty much melted the filler (a real bummer from a financial perspective). My dermatologist said that can be a side effect of laser treatments -- they can accelerate the time that fillers break down. It might be helpful in reducing the nodules.
