WORTH IT$5,000
After years of traction alopecia from tight braids, weaves, glue, and twists I decided to shave my head and give my hairline a chance to grow back. In that time, I tried acupuncture, laying upside down massages, hot oil treatments, oils, lotions and potions and nothing worked! After a year of having a shaved head I decided to go ahead and get the hair transplant surgery. It's only been 3 days and I'm so excited and optimistic to see the results. Here's my journey...

please remember to post follow up pictures. But 5,000 seems a little too much for an area that is not so large

Well it's only been 3 days so there's not much to post yet. And as far as the price, you get what you pay for. The quality of work is there making it worth the price. You can go to some other country if it's you much for you :)

Hair transplant in the US is expensive. I feel 5K was a very reasonable price compared to what i've seen other people pay.

Some other doctors are charging over 10k so 5k is very cheap for the procedure you getting done

Yeah, I'm actually still in Florida staying at my sister's in Orlando which has been great! I head back to New York on Wednesday, but the healing is going well. I don't return to work until Monday. How long were you off?

The scabs came off fairly quick compared to others (all gone by day 11). To be honest, I would like to take a bristol pad to my suture line, it's SO itchy!! I'm at day 14 today, per doctor I should've been able to go to any urgent care, general practitioner doctor, but when I went to urgent care they looked nervous that the stitches were in my head. I didn't want to take the chance so I contacted a hair transplant doctor here in NYC, Dr. Frank, and scheduled to get them out Friday. Hopefully I have some relief once they're out...

Looks good and a bristol pad would be nice lol. I still have some itching to the suture area but definitely not as bad as early on. That's crazy you have to go to Dr. Frank for suture removal but better to take the chance with someone experienced in the transplant business. I had a consultation with him before Dr. Huebner and almost went with him! Are you wearing scarves right now?

It's only costing $50 bucks to get them out so it's the same price as an urgent care, but with a doc who knows what he's doing! He has good reviews, but what sold me on Dr. Huebner's practice were the youtube videos! Seeing is believing lol. I've been wearing turbans (wrapping my infinity scarves around) and I have a pretty cute bob wig, which is a style I would wear before the surgery so it wouldn't look strange. It's the Hania wig by Freetress.

That's a good idea to wear a wig and scarves before and after. Great tip :-)

Hey guys ! I had my surgery yesterday. What did you all do in detail to get the scabs removed. I did my rinse on day two with just water. And particular shampoo or any method at all to it ?
August 9, 2017
So I'm going back to work 3-4 post surgery. Do you think it's ok to wear a silk scarf and place my loose wig over the scarf ?

Sorry for not being so consistent :( I got my stitches out on April 21st. I ended up going to Dr. Frank that is a hair transplant doctor in New York. The price was very affordable and the technician said my results were looking good thus far! I am currently taking: Mane Choice hair vitamins, fish oil, vitamin E, Vitamin C, and Iron pills. I'm having issues with my water intake but I'm pushing to be better so I get the best results from the vitamins. The itching has gone down dramatically, which is nice.

I had a similar issue with traction aloepicia from YEARS of weaves and braids and considered this procedure. I am actually going to start my review about regrowing my hairline today so be sure to check it out. I've been using Nioxin since 11/16 and have grown my hairline in dramatically. It's not completely there yet but I now hair follicles in places that have been bald for years. Good luck on your journey!

@maiganb09 hmmmm i'ld love to read your review about this Nioxin...
