My eyelids have always covered more of my eyes...
My eyelids have always covered more of my eyes than the average person, making my eyes look small. With age, my eyelids have lowered even more over my eyes; I started to look tired and my field of vision began to narrow esp. first thing in the morning due to normal eye puffiness.
I few months ago I rec'd an email regarding a special on eyelid surgery through Groupon. I checked the surgeon, John M. Thomassen, and he's board certified and received mostly excellent patient reviews.
I had the surgery done about a month ago so I'm still healing; the after photo is about 4 weeks after the procedure.
I was in and out of the office in a little over an hour. It was uncomfortable of course but the only pain was from the local injections which were certainly bearable.
I did take the pain pills for one day but the next day I felt well enough to work (out of the house) and not take any medication exp. for an antibiotic.
My right eye's incision did open up a bit after the stitch removal and Dr. T was nice enough to meet me right away at his office late on a Friday night when I informed him. He stitched the opening back up and everything has been fine since then.
Evidently, I'm not a fast healer so I still have bumpy scars but since they are on my eyelids I doubt anyone notices and I expect the scar to improve daily.
My husband- who notices little!- told me about two weeks out how much more open my eyes look and I certainly see a vision improvement even though my eyelids are still swollen a bit. I expect the improvement will increase with time. This was a wonderful investment, well worth the money and inconvenience.
I have to say that Dr. Thomassen's office is the best medical office I have ever been in re: scheduling. I've never waited more than 5 minutes and am usually immediately seen. The office is organized and professional. Highly recommended.
