5 month update!

It’s been about 5 months after my surgery and I am so happy with my results! It’s the best decision I’ve ever made! I did have slight shock loss about 3 weeks after my surgery but that hair came back at around the 3month mark and it wasn’t anything that anyone but myself would notice. My scar is only noticeable under close scrutiny but again, no one else would be able to notice it. Granted, Dr. Gal warned me that my own scar might be more noticeable than his other patients because I have such a thin hairline and a severe cowlick. If you’re thinking about doing it, DO IT DO IT DO IT! You won’t regret it at all!

Day 6- STITCHES OUT

LilMissSarah
I got my stitches removed today by Dr. Gal!! It wasn’t painful but the staples were mildly uncomfortable. As always, Dr. Gal and Faye were absolutely lovely and answered every question I had.
As far as my recovery, the pain is pretty subsided unless I touch where my staples are but other than that, I have stopped taking any Tylenol and I stopped taking my prescription painkillers on day 3. My neck/scalp aren’t in pain either. Instead, they both just feel tight but it isn’t noticeably uncomfortable. Additionally, the front of my hairline is still numb but sensation will come back with time! Honestly, the worst part of this whole recovery has been having ointment in my hair 24/7 so I’m super thrilled to not have to do that anymore after today! Overall, 10/10 would recommend to anyone considering getting this surgery! You won’t regret it, especially if you go with Dr. Gal!!

Post-Op and surgery results!

LilMissSarah
Today was my post-op meeting. Essentially, he took me back into a patient room, cleaned my stitches/staples and then revealed my new hairline to me! I am so in love and I am already 100% glad that I decided to do this procedure. After that, he took some pictures of my new hairline and told me to go home and wash my stitches with baby shampoo and to continually put on antibiotic ointment throughout the day until I get my stitches removed.

I still don’t have an appetite and all I’ve had today is a cup of black coffee. My stitches don’t really hurt and my staples hurt somewhat. I am taking about half a pill of pain killers every 5 hours, though. I don’t have any feeling on the top of my head, as expected, so brushing my hair was kind of nerve wracking since I didn’t want to brush too hard over my stitches. Overall Dr. Gal is a true professional and him and Faye made things go as smoothly as possible.
Will update after I get my stitches removed!

I am considering this surgery. I am curious if you are still super glad you did it? Can you see the scar? Are u concerned about growing old and thinning hair and the scar will eventually be visible (that is my worry as I have run hair to begin with and 55 years old. Thank you
