$12,800
My surgery is two days from now and I can't wait! I will be thoroughly documenting my journey- the good, the bad, everything. So far everything has been really amazing and Faye and Dr. A have been incredible and very attentive. Faye called me this morning to check up on me before my pre-op appointment tomorrow. Full disclosure, my operation is $12,800, which is a little more than the average cost because he is going to have to cut out my widows peak and cowlick so that I have a rounder hairline. Will be updating after the pre-op tomorrow!!

How many inches or length did he lower your hair line. It looks great by the way! It's just easier to try it out on my head with a tape measure if I knew how much he lowered your hairline. This seems to be common with aging and I can really tell now that I'm in my early 70's. I also have an incredible tight scalp and try to massage it gently so as not to mess with the few hairs I have left up there. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us and continued fast healing for you. Hugs, PJ

Pre Op

Today was the pre op appointment! Went very smoothly and was about two hours long, including the medication pick up. We came in, signed some paperwork, and Faye showed us the surgery center and where to pick up my medication. After that, Dr. Gal discussed basic surgery details and protocols like how much my hairline was going to to be lowered, surgery length, etc. I have surgery at 9AM tomorrow so I’ll add some before and after pics when I get the bandages off!!

HAD MY SURGERY!

LilMissSarah
I had my surgery at 10AM this morning and here’s how it went for me! We checked into the surgery center at around 8:15AM since I arrived early. We were supposed to be there at 9AM. The RN came in and did my pre-op evaluation which just consisted of the standard questions that you normally are asked when about to get surgery. The receptionist took me back to the bathroom where I put my clothes and shoes into a plastic bag and changed into a robe, socks, and disposable underwear. I also had to take a pregnancy test. I was then directed into my room and waited until the RN put an iv into my arm.
Shortly after that, at a little past 10AM, the Dr. Gal came in and drew a line representing where the forehead would be lowered. At the same time, the anesthesiologist came in and gave me a tylenol and then promptly left. Meanwhile, Dr. Gal then shaved off the front of my hairline that was going to be cut off so that it could be reshaped. Not going to lie, this did make me laugh because it was unexpected and I looked so goofy with an extra inch added to my big forehead already. After that, Dr. Gal left the room and the RN came in to grab me and we headed off to the surgery room. They made me take off my robe and put it on backwards in he room, which even though everyone was still perfectly professional and respectful , it still made me a little uncomfortable since I wasn’t prepared for or expecting to flash the entire surgery team lol. Then, the anesthesiologist worked her magic and it was lights out for me!
After I woke up, I was fully dressed and wheeled out to my car. The pain wasn’t horrible and the only place that was legitimately uncomfortable was my neck because I had a tight scalp. However, my incision didn’t really hurt at all!
Once I arrived at my home, I basically just slept or took naps throughout the day until now. Right now, I’ve gotten more used to the neck pain so it’s tolerable and I have a slight headache right now but nothing unbearable. I also haven’t been able to stomach anything except I forced myself to eat half a cup of plain rice just to get something in my system . Will keep you guys update about my post-op tomorrow and sorry if this isn’t completely coherent, I am still a little woozy and groggy!

congrats girl!! also why did he have to shave your hair? ive not heard of that before

Hey girl!! I had a cowlick and a sharp widows peak so my hairline looked like it was receding. In order to reshape my hairline to make it more in line with what I wanted, he would have to cut off that piece of my scalp anyways. I think he just shaved the bit of scalp that he cut off just to get it out of the way while he was doing surgery. I don't know if this is normally what he does but he had to reshape my hairline so much so maybe that's why.
