Forehead Reduced Finally!

So I just hit my 6 month mark and wanted to wait until I was this far along to update. My results are coming along so well. Of course I have no more pain, swelling, tenderness or tightness.. that all ended about 8 weeks in. The numbness is the only thing that is slightly lingering, although I can feel again, it’s not on the same level that you have feelings in your scalp before the surgery but I’m sure the nerves are still healing and in another 6 months all numbness will be gone and restored back to normal. My scar is literally nonexistent! I’m so happy I was worried seeing other peoples scars on African American people look raised and pink, mine is invisible! Whooohooo! My Doctor did an amazing job! These pics are from today. So much hair is growing back in around the incision area and my hairline is truly full. I’m excited to see what it will look like at my one year mark if this is what 6 months is like. If anyone is undecided and really want this surgery but unsure, I’m telling you, it is absolutely worth it!!! Don’t hesitate! Go see Dr. Cenghiz

So today is exactly 3 weeks post op. My incision is healing perfectly. It’s invisible and I have thick hair growing in all around it. Not sure if this is because I had the stem cell treatment done as well but I’m in love! The forehead dimpling is almost completely smoothed out. I still apply the cream ointment mix 3 times a day just to be safe and I massage the dimples twice daily but they are all but gone. I can style my hair now and I love my new forehead and hairline!!! My scalp is still completely numb, it feels like a brick but that’s the only bad part of the surgery, other than that, Best surgery ever! I’ll be back at one month with pics of my hair with a middle part. I can’t pull my hair back completely until the 3 month mark to protect the follicles and scar but I will post that pic at 3 months!

So I’m 10 days post op now and so much better. In absolutely no more pain, the pain was gone by about day 3 or 4 and I stopped taking pain meds. When I went back for my post op appointment the nurse washed my hair and incision with medical shampoo which they gave me a 6 month supply of, and gave me a cream and ointment to mix together and apply to my incision 3 times a day for 1 month while it heals. They gave me hair pills to take, oil to apply to my hair and a vitamin spray to put on my freshly cleaned hair. They also gave me St. John’s wort oil to apply to the dimpling of my forehead and massage it twice a day to promote the swelling to go down which reduces the dimples. Right now I’d say the dimples along the front of my hairline are not as pronounced as they were right after surgery but they are still very visible. I wear a scarf when I go out in public or a hat, but I’m careful to be sure the hat does not sit anywhere near my incision line. My scar is healing nicely and I haven’t had any hair loss or shock loss so far. Fingers crossed. I keep the scar clean and dry. The top of my scalp all the way forward to my forehead is completely numb so I have to be careful, no hot styling tools or blow dryers because I wouldn’t feel if it was burning my scalp. That’s a challenge because I can’t straighten my hair. But it’s a small thing. Can’t wait to post again at my 1 month mark and see the progress!
