So this is a voiceover in case somethings are misspelled. I’m just letting you guys know ahead of time because there’s a lot first I would like to say I think I got the surgery done last year and I was so excited did over a year research and all that research still ended up with a scar that did not darken After my surgery and I decided to just wear wigs again thank God I know how to lay with wig down, because oh, it just is horrible like my scar was lighter than my skin, and it would be so visible as you can see in the photos. These photos I think are actually after I did a camouflage car covering but I only did one session. I do believe if I did two sessions, the scar would have been way darker and more match my skin but I never went for a second round.
I think it’s super important to look at your body before you get surgery. Look at how you scar as you can see in one of my photos I’m showing you how my scar is dark on the outside, but it’s light on the inside that would be a strong indicator to tell you if you do get another scar you might end up scoring lately specially, for Malin and the girls so really look at your body a lot when I did my research and no one told me about That they would say just look at the dogs or look at reviews Google and put a negative so-and-so doctor, but never looking at your body and seeing how you scar that would’ve probably made me decide to not do the surgery I can’t go back and undo it so it is what it is but after that, I decided the only way I can fix it is to get a transplant. I actually wish I got a transplant before hand and did the transplant instead of the surgery because I could’ve decided how low I wanted my hairline it would take a year to heal, and even though the healing process for the the forehead lowering is immediate, you can see your results the fact that my hairline was lighter than my skin and my hair did not grow through. I was just stuck with this for the rest of my life if I didn’t do any different I finally in the later photos I’ve gotten the hair transplant. The real reason I got the hair transplant, because I actually wanted to get my eyebrows transplanted because I had no brows so while I was there, I asked them if they can put hair on the scar line and they also put a little bit of hair on my hairline where my edges are going bye-bye I didn’t have enough hair to put all over the scar so I’m praying that when the hair does grow and it will cover that scar if it doesn’t. I haven’t decided I’m gonna go for a round to like a touchup or maybe I’m gonna try a PRP shot, but it was very sad that Hair did not go through the scar like it was supposed to some other girls have gone through this and it’s just really unfortunate. Just know that there’s things that we can do to save it. Oh no I wish I just got a transplant. It will probably save me some money because now I’m doing a transplant and I just had a surgery. If you have any questions just drop down down below I thought I was gonna spill so much more but wow it’s been a lot it’s been a lot.

I second all of this. Ladies- ESPECIALLY dark skinned ladies- do NOT get this surgery. This has been the worst decision on my life. Please consider how you scar. Please know a scar is not worth it for a smaller forehead, it will bring you more grief. Save yo her money and get a GOOD hair transplant from a reputable doc if you really desperately want to lower your hairline. I can’t believe doctors recommend this invasive surgery that does not produce flawless results most of the time. You do NOT want a scar in your hairline, trust me. I’ve been through this exact scenario and the amount of heartache and depression and grief it’s caused me is immeasurable, if I could save anyone from this pain I would gladly do so.

Hair does not grow through the scar most of the time. Especially if you have what is called a “cowlick”. My money-hungry doctor did not tell me any of this!!!! All it takes is a simple document clearly outlining all this info. So unethical. If you scar well or are causcasian/fair skinned without a cowlick you will have the best results but you will still have a scar. Ask yourself if you are really ok with that. Big foreheads are beautiful. Just get bangs if it bothers you that much. People love you for you, not your forehead. No one even cares anyway.

Wanted to edit the Caucasian/fair skin tone comment- actually, you are not even guaranteed scarless results either. I had a consult with Dr Attenello and she showed me a causcasian skin tone with a VERY obvious scar which will show even more if you tan! So please be cautious regardless! Everyone wil scar, how you scar depends on the skill of your surgeon (please choose the right doctor) AND how you scar personally.

Who’s your dr?? I have wheat-like skin. Do you recommend performing the procedure?

hi, i would look at other scars on your body to determine that answer. I notice I scar very lightly every time I have a cut show if that is like you, I would up for a hair transplant. I also think that if you don’t need to bring that much hair down like less than an inch. I would also up for a hair transplant.

Hey, I’m sorry for your experience but just know that you did the best with what you knew. Just to satisfy your I shoulda woulda coulda voice lol… The hair transplant may not have been the perfect solution think, you can only realistically go a couple of inches lower- I say this because no matter how good the surgeon is it will look unrealistic and unnatural when it’s too far down. When your hair transplant heals and grows back fully you’ll see how if you had that like three or four inches further down it would not have looked good. It never blends as well as your actual hair line and looks a little implanted like a much less amplified certain of a dolls head (hard to explain) but when looking at extremely closely. Like it’s not a big deal when it’s a little, no one could ever really tell unless they’ve had a experience or know what to look for, but if it was inches down your head, they would definitely be able to tell. It’s more sparse, there is a difference in the complexion of your scalp and your actual skin and your skin is more prone to different oils/acne etc… I think hair transplants are good for filling in and covering scars but brings hairline forward a significant amount is not it and I’m so glad my surgeon refused because I only understood what he meant when it fully healed.

I had a hairline lowering transplant before my forehead reduction and the transplanted hair is growing through the scar. I questioned the surgeon prior because I thought hair didn’t grow through scars but he said it would and to be honest, it slowly is. I hope it continues all the way through the scar but it’s only a couple of months so we shall see. Anyway your transplant should cover it up nicely but just remember you did as you could and you weren’t to know how it was going to end up, because it’s different for everyone. I scar amazingly on my face but horribly on my arms, I get super dark scars on my back but my forehead scar is very light - it really depends and there’s a lot you can’t control. You did well to research and I honestly think in time the scar will look much better. My surgery scars regardless of location only start to look good after two years whereas some friends have faded scars after like 6 months … FYI I had PRP with my hair transplant and it helped, only had a couple of injections as well and your eyebrows look amazing. Wishing you the best

Before getting the surgery I would advise anyone and everyone to genuinely look through your whole body and see how your score is heal it will tell you a lot about what might happen. For me I have noticed most of my stores heal lately which is also proven put my current surgery that I’m hearing from. Photos to come.

How is it going? How is the scar? Did your hair grow through the scar? I had this done with another doctor and looking to get a revision with Dr Aharonov.

I saw someone comment about getting micropigmentation... Don't do it. I got it done and it doesn't look good. I think the best option is probably to get a few transplants to cover the scar.

I look forward to seeing your photos...

Thanks for sharing your experience

I had it done with your doctor. Terrible work he does. Are you going to go though with the revision?

Pain is temporary but a new forehead is forever #postop

theperfectfaceoj
I won’t lie you can’t prepare yourself for this pain. I couldn’t sleep at all. The most I slept was 1 hour and 47 mins I would wake up and try and change my position from about 5 pm - 8 am. It was rough but I made it through. I would not recommend having a nurse, I think it’s best to go with some one who care for u enough to do everything you ask. I think I asked my sister every 2 hours to change the position or to order me food get me ice just anything
I went to remove the rapping around 10:30 am and I definitely feel way better now. I stop taking the meds after day 1. I am taking extra strength Tylenol. maybe I do well with pain I d k I was just very sick when I took the Prescription the doctor gave me. Sick meaning when I Took the his pain killers i would throw up. I did only throw up once. I can’t feel the top oh my head which makes me less scared to wash it but I'm still going to ask my sister for so much help.
The back of my neck does not hurting as must as yesterday but it is still very tender. Feeling like it’s being pulled but it is very manageable.
My sister took 3 hours maybe a little longer to wash my hair. She went section by section and after washing each little section she put it into twist. 4c hair and this procedure does make it difficult. My hair was knotted. My hair looked like a hot mess after and was very I mean extremely knotted. TAKE YOUR TIME ! I lost a lot of hair but I would say during my regular wash day I would lose half the size. I really don’t think I will have shock lost. Keeping my fingers crossed but I do have hair that grows in thickness first vs length. ( very important to know how your hair grows )
Lastly I would say. Ice ice ice. I did notice my face Swollen on the side but I didn’t notice any eye swelling.
The purple line in the picture Indicate where the doctor tried to reach but wasn’t able to get there. I still think that like was 3.5 cm. My Forehead was very tight so I know he did try has hardest to get it to that line and I believe once my hair growing in from the scar it will be amazing. He also was able to round my hairline a bit something he said he wasn’t able do and something that Dr. Richardson said he definitely can’t do. I think it was more possible because he goes Further back in the head and the way he cuts this car line is a bit closer towards the ear. He took off all of my “fake “ baby’s hair that Rogain gave me and started from my thick point. On my side brought my receding hairline closer and left my side edges

Hi girl! Just curious about your experience to date. Our hair texture is similar, and as I consider the same procedure I wanted to know how your recovery has been?
April 19, 2022
Hi sorry I'm just seeing this. Recovery has been way easier then I thought. I would say the only thing I have been struggling with is my scar is light but that due to me scaring lightly. I'm currently using something to Darlene. It an I think it's working. I'll know maybe in 2 months. When I go out I braid my hair down and just wear a wig. If you have any specific questions I will be happy to answer
June 6, 2022
Hi. Just a suggestion .. you can, later on, get micropigmentation on the scar if you think it's too much lighter than your skintone.
November 13, 2022
Yes I thought about that but the thought of having a little dots on my head that is not real hair later on will not make me happy in life
April 20, 2022
Hello, how quickly after your surgery did you feel comfortable braiding your hair or doing corn rows?
November 13, 2022
So sorry I didn't see this but two days after my surgery I put it into twist and maybe after I took out the stitches a week later I feel comfortable braiding my hair my hair head is very numb so I didn't really feel like much
August 31, 2022
Hey girl, I've just had this procedure 3 weeks ago. I'm curious, how does your scar look a couple months on. I ask because we're roughly the same skin tone
November 13, 2022
Hey I just tried connecting with you. I got my surgery in January and now we are in November and my scar is still light. I learned that I scar lightly so I definitely will not be cutting myself up anywhere else in my body that cannot be covered. I think that when my stitches came out my scissors were too tight which maybe made the scar thicker and is not allowing her to go through only in certain areas. So right now I think I'm going to get a hair transplant which the doctor I have found is almost similar pricing to the forehead reduction which is makes me think I should've got a transplant to begin with. Now that I'm also doing a transplant I'm thinking I might as well fill in Hairs Not just on the scar but where the forehead reduction didn't touch that my edges are missing. I'm sorry that we're both going through this
December 22, 2022
hello, could you please tell me from the time you had consultation to your procedure date, how many months did you have to wait? Thank you
