My Experience at VeryGood Plastic Surgery* BA Pics Included (Forehead Reduction + Cat Eye Lift)
WORTH IT
Hi everyone~ so you guys might know me from the kakao chats as I've been quite active in there but I finally decided to write a review of my plastic surgery experience in Korea! VeryGood was holding a promo on Gangnam unnie thats how I found out they existed and upon digging further, found they seem pretty reputable and safety focused which I really liked! Their director was also on a thai tv show and they seemed really reputable in the chinese community so I messaged them. They were pretty prompt in replying to my messages on whatsapp and we agreed on a date to meet for a in person consultation! They seemed pretty busy with the promo that time so I paid a small deposit to reserve my surgery date just in case :o
Consultation experience
First I was bought into a room and spoken with the consultant (she was also the translator which makes it a plus as some clinics get a korean speaking consultant + translator + doctor which gives a lot of communication error) She wanted to know all my concerns and also worries so she could convey to the doctor better when we sat down with him. I showed her pictures of results I liked on gangnam unnie by my surgeon (Dr Kim) and also explained to her about my forehead! I was very concern about the scarring as forehead reduction has huge long scars on your hairline but after looking at so many of their in house photos with forehead reduction by Dr Kim (over 20 photos) I felt his work was definitely consistent and that gave me alot of confidence and insight into choosing him to do my surgery.
For my eyes it was also performed my Dr Kim as cat eye and forehead should be performed together if not it would look uneven! I wanted soft natural eyes that were almond shape instead of my droopy puppy dog eyes so I needed to lift my outer corners via cat eye lift! I needed to redo my DES T_T but I just asked for the same line again because I was already happy with my old line. I also did under eye fat repositioning to eliminate hollow spaces in my eyes and my eye bags. Honestly under eye fat repositioning is THE BEST surgery I NEVER KNEW I NEEDED! I just look so much more less dead due to it, my friends have been saying I finally look like I'm getting enough sleep now :P
Meeting with the doctor
I met with Dr Kim for 3 consults before the surgery because I am a paranoid person. After hearing so many horror stories on TPF and chats I needed to make sure I was choosing the right doctor and he had the right surgery for me etc. He doesn't speak English but he understands you and often he won't really need a translation if you speak slowly. I think for eyes I preferred a doctor who was kind and understood aesthetic worries but also experienced instead of a doctor who pushes a lot of naturalism on you or pushes more complex surgeries. I definitely wanted a natural result but more like a dramatic natural kind haha. Dr Kim was never angry when I decided to meet him 3x he understood and was eager to get to know my fears and anxiety because it was my first surgery after all!
Clinic experience
The medical facilities at VG were reallly good (better than most clinics I've seen) and the private room I was given after surgery for one night + unlimited laser treatments really helped me after the surgery post op wise! And most of the nurses are incredibly kind (because the ceo himself is kind and I feel like that was the vibe he wanted to build his clinic around!) I also saw alot of local koreans there who got their eyes and nose done! and many male patients too doing eyes which gave me a warm impression that they weren't trying to be a clinic for only foreigners. Their prices have been affordable to me and I definitely would recommend others doing surgery with them after my experience. It's hard to find a clinic with a warm personality because when you visit alot of clinics ( at least I did) I had many consultants/ translators pushing me to do surgery with them, talking down on other clinics and giving examples of all these foreigners who had done surgery with them (which I didnt appreciate because I feel like they were trying too hard to target a foreign audience which gives me sus vibes). It feels much more refreshing when they don't try to push you towards their goals!
the photos are post op 2 weeks so the swelling isnt gone yet! I'll update this thread later with the full results!
