Tummy Tuck (Continuation of Previous Review)

I had a lot of severe stretch marks and loose skin, and that definietly looks better, but I've had a lot of tummy troubles since the surgery. As soon as the bandages came off, it was apparent I'd developed an umbilical hernia. Everyone says that's impossible, but it happened to me. And it's slowly getting worse. My surgeon checked his notes and confirmed there was no sign of a hernia prior to the procedure. I have constant gastro issues since my surgery and was recently diagnosed with diverticulitis, a serious and painful condition that could be the cause of my back and leg pain. I don't know if the surgery caused the diverticulitis, but my sense is that it did. I have a super sensitive stomach. Even a little food can fill me up and leave me feeling sick to my stomach. Also weird stomach pains come and go. I was going to have the hernia repaired, but so many people on here have had really terrible experiences with that. And there is no way I'm letting anyone put mesh in my body. As for my appearance after the TT, in a way I look much better now that I'm rid of the loose skin and stretch marks, but I have a popped out hernia belly and no waist-line. I suppose I look marginally better.

I had a tummy tuck to improve the appearance of my torso. I had some pretty severe stretch marks and a droopy belly. I was hoping to also have some fat removed and end up with more of a waist.
I went to a VERY HIGHLY rated surgeon. He assured me that he would do liposuction on my front and back as part of the tummy tuck. I wanted this noted in the contract, but resisted and assured me that lipo was included.
A week or so after I signed my contract and paid the deposit, his assistant brought me a new contract, changing the terms and quadrupling the fine if I were to miss an appointment. I was really uncomfortable with that and declined to sign the new agreement - clearly ticking off the assistant. In retrospect maybe that was a red flag.
Within a week of my surgery, I received a note from his office offering a free Starbuck's card if I were to write a review on this site. This made me a little uncomfortable and I have to wonder is that doesn't account for the huge number of glowing reviews.
After the surgery my belly button looked really weird - and as time went on, it began to look worse. It turns out I have a hernia. Also no sign that any liposuction was done and no waist at all. I now have kind of a masculine torso :(
I discussed the hernia with my surgeon and also the lack of liposuction. At first he told me that I had the hernia when I came in (not true), then said it was impossible for a tummy tuck to cause a hernia and finally he said that hernias are very common after tummy tucks and that is a risk I took. He also said that he did not do the lipo because I have no excess fat :( I wish! ):
Would I do it again? Probably not. It's great to be rid of those hideous stretch marks, but I have no waist so my pants won't stay up, I've got a creepy looking belly button and I'm going to have to come up with $4,000 for a hernia operation. Also because of the hernia I am not supposed to lift more than 25 lbs - and that prevents me from doing most jobs, so I'm kind of disabled :(

He was very nice and reassuring, but he was not completely honest with me, and I felt he was a bit weasely. If I had it to do over I would choose a different surgeon.
