Two Week Post OP-GREAT VISIT
Today I had my two week post op (actual a little longer, actually 18 days) and it went great. I didn't know what to expect but today was a game changer. I no longer need to wear the foam, granny girdle body suit and additional two waist velcro wraps. As long as I wear spanx like compression undergarments would suffice. I can actually piece together outfits more easily and sleep more comfortably. Although I think I may miss the crotchless part...(ha). I also got the green light to make woopie with my man (can't fully wrap my head around that idea but exciting to think about). My scar is healing nicely and I can start using lotion and any home scar remedy until I see her for 6 week follow up. She was very complimentary about my attitude and that took me by surprise and made me feel good. You never know if you're just a wimp and some days I wished I could have throw in the towel. Great words of encouragement and she was delighted with how "small" I looked. Nice! Thanks Doc!
Truly prepare yourself for the first week, it's no joke, get through the second week and then little by little you gain some momentum. They mentioned the swelling again today, relief begins anywhere from 3-6months. Previous client was there today and mentioned and doctor reiterated that in one full year you feel like your total self again. 6 months sounded like the biggest milestone. She mentioned the swelling and I would be thrilled if this was the finished product as it's such a BIG improvement. The swelling "look" doesn't bother me as much as the swelling pain. I'll take pics later tonight...

Post Op Day 10
Went to my doctors appt two days ago, first time out of the house. Only had one pesky drain removed still one in the hip due to the amount of fluid in one bag. I am wearing a full compression garment from my breasts to my knee cap with additional foam inserts and two velcro wraps on top of that. The swell pain is tough, especially in the evening. I am now taking 4 advil in the morning with food and a percocet in the evening with a xanax to help relax. I have been in my bed the last two nights, propped up and it's been wonderful. My lower is back pain has been the toughest at this point and still can't stand straight. My belly is swollen, doesn't look much different than before except the large roll of skin missing but the swell replicates and makes you feel pretty chubby and uncomfortable. Some itchy, weird, numb places along backside and belly. Today was a big day, probably did too much, went to dinner and a movie with the family. Patience, patience, patience.....
1 week post op
Going to doctors tomorrow for one week appt. May have drains coming out...?
Provider Review
Very busy well known office for Northern CA. I choose Dr. Clark because I felt her work looked very soft and contoured. She's very down to earth and incredibly easy to talk to.
