My once flat tummy was destroyed after carrying full term twins (15+ lbs of baby). Another large baby boy 2 years later made it worse and I was left with lots of extra skin, a diastasis, and an outie belly button. I knew I would eventually get a TT but thought it was a ways off. The opportunity presented itself this summer and I decided to just go for it. I was totally unprepared the day before surgery, worked late, didn't get the laundry done or meals prepared, but whatever, I made it to the medical office on time and they even got started early. I am now 3 days PO. My pain pump ran out this morning and I am becoming more aware of the pain in my upper abdominal muscles, but I think the pills will be able to control it. I am able to go up and down the stairs and walk to the bathroom on my own. The back pain is really what prevents me from being able to get around more. I think I will be able to stand up straight in the next day or two so hopefully that will resolve too.
I have already marked that the surgery was worth it because no matter what my stomach looks like when I am healed, at least the extra flap of skin will be gone. My before picture was taken first thing in the morning so it is hard to see how much skin was actually there, but by the end of the day it would be loose enough to completely fold over itself. I have worn my c-section compression garment since the birth of my twins, especially when excercising, and I am so looking forward to ceremoniously throwing it away.
I got one picture at the office visit the day after the surgery and I will post another later when my husband removes the pain pump and I finally get to shower.

Haven't had time to update, but to summarize, everything has gone better than I expected. I was able to return to work 10 days after surgery and am currently able to do most of my regular activities (not including exercise). The first week really was pretty bad but once the drains came out each day was significantly better than the last.
My "twin skin" is finally gone, and even if my big, ugly scar never got better, it would of been worth it. I'm so glad I did this!

I'm going to try and go for a run tomorrow, but I'm very nervous. I don't have any pain or discomfort anymore (except when I sneeze) but my body is definitely not feeling normal. I still get swollen by the end of the day. I'm going to stay near my house just in case I need to cut it short. I posted my most recent pics and you can see that the very center of my scar is not a nice line like the rest of it. That area got really irritated from rubbing on the spanx that I wear during the day. I'm hoping that it will heal in the same way the rest of my scar does.
