I was literally gasping for air at times, and had been suffering for years with poor breathing.I had went to an ENT,two G P's and Dr.Shahriar Mabourakh MD FACS for consult.I felt that my best outcome-functional as well as aesthetic was to go to a skilled plastic surgeon-Dr.Shahriar Mabourakh.I was very nervous,as my surgery was open, also about breathing through my mouth until stents were out,and nasia afterword.I experienced no nasia Dr.Shahriar Mabourakh and his team, anesthesiologist, nurse, and staff put me at ease.Surgery went perfect.I am now a little over two weeks post op.Cast came off yesterday : )A little swelling, but that is to be expected,I can already see what a beautiful open septoplasty Dr.Shahriar Mabourakh did.The best part of all is I can now breath!Thank you for a positive experience.

P.S. Do you know what, specifically, he did to your nose?

Dr.Shahriar Mabourakh did an open septoplasty. He also rebuilt my nostrils as they collapsed when I breathed. He was going to use cartilage from behind my ear,but since this was my first nose surgery I had enough to work with. He also felt my nose tip was bulbous and made it a bit smaller. He corrected the deviated septum,as it was very crooked. Also the dorsal bump.He was going to use packing but decided on stents. Was glad he did,as it made the first week of recovery a little more tolerable.I was very surprised I was able to breath through my nose very little but a bit when I awoke in recovery even with the stents in .When the stents where removed the experience was awesome!Breathing normally for the first time!
