8 months - Post Op

The swelling changes by the day & I notice that the swelling goes down a lot when I take a preworkout during a workout at the gym - don't know what the correlation is but I wish it was permanent.

I've expressed my concerns with the surgeon who is open to doing a refinement after 1 year.

Day 1 - day of Surgery: I scheduled to be the first surgery of the day because I know how hard it is be NPO. The surgery took about 2 hours and left after another two hours due to low blood pressure (which happens to me). Honestly, the IV hurt the most there was no pain whatsoever, nothing but discomfort. My eyes were blue and purple as soon as I came out of surgery. I spent the day on the couch sleeping on the anesthesia. I did not take any pain med's.

Day 2 - Did not sleep well the first night I woke up every 30 minutes because I was uncomfortable. Breathing out of my mouth was something I did not get used to - have water & chapstick close by.My eyes are deep red and purple. I took Tylenol every 4 hours there was no need to take pain meds.

Day 3 - Sleeping was a tad bit better, still taking Tylenol, eyes look worse the bruises are accompanied by swelling.

Day 4 - Sleeping improved to waking up e every 2 hours now (yikes!!), Tylenol about every 6-8 hours.

Day 5-8 - sleeping improved, no longer taking Tylenol, swelling has gone down tremendously and the residual bruising has set real low under my eyes on my cheek bones (it took 4.5 weeks to fully diminish). Went for a checkup where he took out nasal packing. That was very unpleasant!! And, he glued the loose tape back down to my face which caused an allergic reaction. He put me on another round of steroids for the rash that took a week to subside.

Day 9 - CAST CAME OFF! I loved my nose. It was perfect!!! I went home took a 4 hour nap and woke up to the biggest nose I have ever seen, bigger than pre-op. This was Friday.

Day 13-16: Saw PS about swelling, He did massaging and showed me how to massage my nose. His "massage" hurts it should be called squeezing. He is doing massages with Collagenase injections that also numb the nose. Injections hurt!! The swelling came back a few hours after I left his office every day.

Day 17 - my last injection and another cast :( He put a cast back on for an entire week because of atypical swelling. I looked like an Avatar!!! It was awful.

Week 4 - cast came off again! My nose looked great for 5 days, it gradually swelled up over the 5 days, back to looking like an Avatar.

Week 5 - swollen and unhappy. Could not breathe out of one nostril due to tissue fibers growing together from each side of the nostril. There is a medical term for it that I cannot remember. My PS had to separate them by a small procedure. OUCH!!!

Week 6 - still swollen and still unhappy! My PS has done 1 massage and will continue to do them every 10 days. I asked for a Kenalog injection after spending all of my free time researching edema treatment, etc., but he refused saying "it will ruin your face" and to be patient that it will be beautiful. I trusted him to do the surgery and I need to keep my confidence in him.

Side notes: 1. My right nostril, the one that grew together, is still hard to breathe out of sometimes so I am thinking it must be allergies. Everyday is better! 2. I've been taking Silver Colloidal & Bromeline for swelling and an antihistamine and decongestant when absolutely necessary. I do not like taking med's. 3. Applying Arnica cream to my nose 4. Salt makes my nose swell! UGH!!!
