Reviews you can trust, from real people like you.
How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

5 Years later

It's been almost 5 years since my breast cancer, bi-lateral mastectomy and all the emotional roller coaster that we all go through. I was lucky, I was stage 1, with an .8mm mass. I made the choice to do the bi-lateral because of a couple factors, Please read this:
You have 5 choices when dealing with breast cancer and all but 1 involves either or both of chemotherapy/radiation unless the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes under your arm pit.
1)Doing a bi-lateral gives you peace of mind knowing the cancer will never come back.
2) Bi-lateral gives you 2 matching breasts which helps you deal with your self image and long term peace of mind.
3) If the cancer is not in your lympy nodes you DO NOT have to go through chemo or radiation, both of these procedures are very difficult on your body, mind and soul. I am a strong believer in the bi-lateral procedure so PLEASE ladies do the bi-lateral. You will be very thankful that you did. Even if you have to have chemo/radiation you will still have matching beautiful breasts.
Final Note: When you pick your PS make sure he specializes in RECONSTRUCTION, not just implants. There is a HUGE difference in the skill level the doctor must have. When you have a bi-lateral masct. your chest is concave so the doctor must take this into account using the correct implants, I recommend High Profile and a gel or the latest implants. There is so much I have to share I could write a book but these are my most important facts I found out going through my process of my 1st doctor who make me feel like a freak, a number, and he cared NONE about my questions or what I wanted. My 2nd doctor saved my physically and emotionally. He took the time to give me perfect breasts and nipples, he cared, he called me his Star Patient. He specialized in full reconstruction and fixing what other, less qualified doctors Botched!!! God Bless and always feel free to contact me.

Breasts are perfect

Ladies Please don't settle for less than perfect. Find a PS that specializes in Reconstruction!!!
There is a Huge difference between putting implants in existing breast and Reconstructing breasts. Size matters because if you have a masct. your chest is concaved and you will need larger implants vs having existing tissue to add an implant to. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions and would like to talk to someone who has been thru it and had a horrible first ps and a Wonderful 2nd one. This takes a toll on you both emotionally and physically. Best Wishes to All Cancer Survivors and God Bless those still fighting this horrible disease.

Tummy Tuck

Had to share: After all I have been through and now with great boobs I got a tummy tuck from Dr Pinsky, my wonderful breast dr. I now am and have been since my tt 102 lbs. I'm 57 years old, wear a bikini, fitted dresses and any thing else I want to wear. Ladies if you can afford it, do it for yourself!!
Take care and I am always happy to answer questions about masectomies or tummy tucks. Don't let a doctor tell you that you have to "settle" for anything less than perfect breasts!!!!

Picking the correct size implants is almost impossible without some type of digital imaging or a way to try on different size implants using a type of bra. As silly as this may sound, get to know the staff is as if not more important on a personal level than the dr. They run the office, he relies on his staff to run his office, tell him his schedule and when he has what surgeries. The staff of my doctor is a nightmare, rude, uncooperative, and unaccommdating, even to my cancer surgeon, these were "his" words. Of course in front of the doctor they are all smiles and helpfulness but that is as far as it goes. My pain level has been continous since December 10, 2010 and I have to beg and plead for any type of pain meds and when I do I am made to feel like a drug addict from both staff and dr. I am very confused at this point and it has been 6 months. The only reason I am recommending my doctor is because I believe in the end I will be happy with the final results when ever we get to that point. The pictures that are terrible breasts are mine, while the other ones I added is what I want. A beautiful job. I am so jealous. My dr's office just took another set of post op pics that look just like the ones I took of myself. Now we are waiting to hear from the insurance company, I am getting set up with a Pain Management Center and a nurse's assistance to see why I am still having pain issues.
