I am having a hysterectomy with tummy tuck on 4/21/15. I am 5'4 and weigh 206 so I was expecting to be turned away by the ps to lose weight but he said I was a good candidate. I am a true pear shape and carry most of my weight in my hips and thighs. I had always had a fairly flat stomach with small waist until I quit smoking and then went through years of infertility treatments. I luckily had 2 daughters via c-section and now I also have the lower stomach roll. The ps said I also have diastasis so I am getting the full TT with MR. I am really excited about this! No more yuck periods and a new body!!! My ps won't do lipo with TT because he thinks it's too risky. I am ok with that. I will just be happy to get this big bulge off! It will be so nice to fit into all of those clothes hanging in my closet that used to fit! I'll post pics when I get up the nerve.

I had the same thing done. Who is doing your hysterectomy. It's going to hurt to laugh cough sneeze ect. You will feel like your ripping stitches. But your not. Good luck.

Tatum is doing the hysterectomy. Who did yours? Did u take any of the supplements people are talking about? I think arnica and bromeliads? Something like that anyway.

Yeah...just love him too! I go tmr for pre-op test and to see Conner for pre-op. They say I'll stay one night inpatient. Is that what you did? I plan to go back to work at 4 weeks. Office job. Does that sound doable to you?

Yes I stay overnight. Trust me you will want to stay the night. You should be fine at 4 weeks to go back to work since its a office job, but still take it easy. Just listen to your body.

I'm having a hysterectomy too so that will pay for the one night hospital stay. It saved me about $1000.

I asked 2 yrs ago when I had my hysterectomy if I could get a TT at the same time, since I'd already be under anesthesia. Dr said no. I'm so jealous! My sister is going in for a MM with Dr Cervantes & Aragon in Tijuana. She's paying 8500, I think.

I'm 5'6 and 190 ... figured my PS would tell me the same. All my weight is in my thighs and hanging stomach... I am pear shaped

Here I am in all my glory! Side poses are weird. It is hard to take a normal side pose without twisting. I would love to get some lipo on flanks hips and thighs but will wait and see how this goes first. I have always had a larger lower half and it is hard to lose! Does a regular TT pull up on hips at all? I have that roll that extends around to the side and I'm hoping when that gets cut it will pull up on my hips. I go for pre-op on 4/14. I'll guess I'll get all of my questions answered then.

Your TT doesn't include lipo? Most do lipo of the flanks and abdominal area.

No. PS feels if increases the risk too much. I'm also having a hysterectomy at the same time. I may go back and get lipo later.

Oh ok probably because of doing the hysterectomy at the same time obviously that's more important. I'm having an extended tummy tuck because of the amount of overhang around my hips so it should help with removal of that. So maybe that's an option but I'm sure your PS is going to do whatever they can to give you the best possible result with keeping your safety first.

I was told that some docs don't do lipo w TT because they are concerned that the reduced blood supply will interfere with healing.

There is an increased risk of blood clots in legs after TT and increased risk of lung clots in lungs after lipo. He thinks it's too risky. Maybe it's just with me.

TT are really individualized, and PS are going to do what the feel is safest for you. So that's good that he's really being cautious

When I had my original TT 18 years ago the PS pulled up a bit on my groin area so I ended up with a bit of a pubic lift with my TT. My preop visit was today and he does an extended TT incision that allows for a bit of an outer thigh lift. Incisions heal and fade so I'm not concerned, and if a slightly longer scar allows for a better shape then I'm all for it!! Our countdown begins...

I don't think my surgeon will be doing lipo on me either. He has also split my surgeries into three different ones and I agree since they will be extensive. I'm looking forward to seeing your updated photos, progress, etc as you are near my current weight and height.,

He did not do lipo on me either said he was to risky due to have two surgerys at once already. The surgery all together took about 5 hours.

did you have drains? My PC nurse said that he stop doing the drains 3 years ago.

I am here! In some pain. Have dilaudid pump demand only. They had to increase the strength earlier because I was hurting so bad. More comfortable. Have a Foley catheter so can't get up until tomorrow am. So far I've seen only the bandage from the hospital bed. GYN said he saw final result and it looked great! Can't wait to be one week out from this. Will post later. Thanks for all of the great support and hope all is well with everyone else.

YAY for you!! And Dilaudid! Yesterday was kind of a blur for me, I had to ride home and I've got Oxycodone and 800mg Ibuprofen. And stool softener!! Had to wake my poor hubby every few hours during the night to help me up out of bed to pee. I asked at the Surgery Center if they could leave my foley in but they wouldn't . It's good to get up and move every hour or two anyway . Happy healing to you and stay ahead of the pain!
