Pros - Invisible as the name 'Invisalign', Does work on crowding teeth. Cons - Differing pain with each aligners, Discomfort of taking the aligners on and off for the first few days with each new set.   <My experience with Invisalign Teen so far>
So this is a new update with my Invisalign Teen after wearing them for nine months. I am currently on set 19 out of 22. Just three more to go and I will be finished with the procedure by the end of March! The slightly bad news, however, is that I will have to take a new impression on my finished teeth to get the refinements- which means I may have to wear 10 or more aligners after the procedure. Well I was already expecting that to happen because of my severe overcrowding; I knew that I won't have perfect results by the end of the procedure. So far I have been very pleased with the results, my teeth have shifted ALOT. Although it definitely needs to shift more to become nearly to the perfection, my teeth looks so much better than how it used to be, and I can smile more often now with much more confidence. <Tips on Invisalign>
As you go on to your next set of aligners, the pain might become more and more unbearable for the first couple of days. For me, the worst part of wearing the aligners was taking them OFF. Since the teeth aren't fully shifted to the shape of the new aligners, they are really stuck with each other for couple of days and thus making the aligners harder to take off; Causing you to feel as if you are pulling all of your teeth out. So my advice on that, is to try to put on your new sets during the night before you go to sleep on the day you are supposed to put them on. Your teeth will be able to bite down hard on your new sets while you are asleep, helping your teeth to adjust to the aligners much quicker and also, you will feel less pain while the teeth are shifting since you are in a sleep. It's also good to try not to take off the aligners as much as possible for the first couple of days, because not only it will hurt like hell, but it won't do much good for your still-adjusting-teeth. I read so many reviews complaining about the discomfort when you wear your very first set of the aligners. The tongue irritation, sore throat, teeth not biting down correctly, and etc. The tongue irritation is caused due to your tongue constantly rubbing down the edge of your bottom aligners. It's because your tongue is not really used to the foreign object in your mouth, which is your aligners. But it will gradually get used to keeping the aligners in your mouth, and the irritation will disappear. The sore throat, is caused by the sanitizing formula they put on your aligners before putting them in the package. Now I'm not sure if it can be significantly harmful to your health, but I just think that it's only a temporary reaction of your body system to the formula and won't become more worse than that. The best way to avoid this is to wash and brush your new sets before you put them on. The biting issue, is obviously due to your teeth shifting to their new position. Near the end of the treatment, your biting down of the upper and lower teeth should fit in with each other much better. If NOT, make sure to inform your orthodontist so they can do something about it with your refinements.   For taking care/ how to keep clean of your aligners, I won't mention anything about these since these are pretty much the basic. Overall what I recommend the most is to keep your aligners on as much as possible! That's the key to less pain, and much better results. Good luck people, and feel free to ask any questions you had in mind. (:

Pros - IT really is invisible!

Cons - Just a little discomfort at the beginning, caused by the slight pressure on your teeth and having to wear a foreign object inside your mouth for the first time

I am 18-year-old female and I have been wanting to get Invisalign since the first day I have found out that I was a candidate to get one.I have severely crowded teeth on both top and bottom, and I was bit skeptical about Invisalign at first thinking such a thing will not work for my case. I was thinking of getting traditional braces, but my ortho doctor told me that traditional braces would take at least two years to straighten my teeth and also had to extract some of my teeth! On the other side, with Invisalign, it would take me little over a year to complete the treatment, invisibly, and be able to take them on and off anytime I want.I work as a sales associate so I didn't want to have a metal-face impression to my co-workers and customers, and even though Invisalign was more expensive than the traditional braces, I decided to get Invisalign.Original cost was $6,000, but my ortho doctor gave me special discounts and the final treatment cost came out to be $5150, and I'm going to pay it off as 24-month In-house financing. To be honest, I did not really shop around to compare the cost, I just looked up on Invisalign website and went straight to a premier provider that was located the most closest to my work.I had my moldings and x-rays done around 13th of April, and finally got my first aligners on today (May 21). It took about five weeks for my aligners to arrive. (I actually called in first to get any updates on my Invisalign case after a month and they made an appointment for my first aligners. I recommend you to do the same after a month just to check the progress on yours).I thought I would get regular Invisalign, I was surprised to find out today that they have ordered Invisalign Teen for me. I do not know if there is any special difference to it, but as long as it works out for me, I guess I'm fine with it.The pressure I felt when they first put on my first aligner was actually not too painful than I had expected after reading so many reviews about it.Maybe because it's Invisalign Teen? I actually didn't feel any pain at all!The assistant told me that I will have my attachments attached on my next appointment, and after previewing my aligners, I will have 5 on my lower teeth which will make Invisalign less invisible /: Oh, wells.I haven't received my upper aligners yet, she told me that I will start on my upper aligners starting from 6th set. I do have a slight lisp just like others who had their first aligners.I read about this other review saying that he couldn't pronounce Statistics properly without lisp anymore after wearing Invisalign, so I tried to pronounce the word and I couldn't do it properly either.Well, so far I'm in the process of getting used to keeping the aligners in my mouth, and although I'm only on day one, I recommend it to other younger teenagers who would like to straighten their teeth without being too self-conscious about it. (:

Provider Review

Dr. Sauter Orthodontics

I actually got to meet my doctor only once during the initial consultation. One of the main reasons why I recommend this doctor is that he is a premier provider, which means that he has much more experience than any other orthodontists with Invisalign. I like his assistants, they are very friendly, kind, and helpful. They also have great special discounts too!
