Finally!! The Tummy Tuck Procedure!!

Hi!

I experienced a few issues submitting this review.

I am 55 years, gave birth to two kids (32, 29) who gave me 3 beautiful grandkids.

Two months prior to my surgery, I began the South Beach Diet. This was my own personal decision, I wanted to loose some weight.

I met with Dr. Silverton and his staff, Marissa and Stephanie approximately 2 months prior to my surgery.

Dr. Silverton is super nice, explained the whole procedure in detail, asked alot of important questions regarding my lifestyle, and made me feel at ease with the whole situation.
Stephanie and Marissa are amazing! Happy, positive, and reassuring!

The procedure lasted approximately 5 hours. I did not feel much pain thanks to the pain medication Dr. Silverton injected inside my incision. I will say that the first 48 hours were the worst BUT mostly due to discomfort and lower back pain close to my hips. The pain medication helped tremendously with the pain. I am happy to say that I stopped taking it on the 4th day and have not needed to it since then. I finally went poop on the 4th day. I took a pill once in awhile for muscle spasms. Other than that, it all went will and my support system was AMAZING.

I read the information on many, many posts/comments on Realself but did not find too much information on details. For example, the Bobby pillow was an idea from a friend. I am so glad I purchased one because it has be very useful.
Thank you!!

Removal of tubes was painful!

DanisMatt
This morning my gut feeling "told me" to take a pain pill & I ignored it. The tubes were removed this morning and it hurt like a Motherf^cker!!! I cussed up a storm and afterwards the doctor and I were laughing because he told me that he learned a couple of new cuss words. LOL!

Prior to him removing the tubes, I asked him if we could take a selfie but I postponed it after feeling that pain.

I can't wait to see the end results once swelling goes down.

That part is so painful! Thanks for posting this, my nurse acted like no one finds it painful. So happy to have my tube out.

We must think too much of it because the first one felt weird and kind of stung but the second one I tried so hard to think of something else and I didn’t even pay attention to the feeling so I even forgot

I heal real quick. That is why it was more painful for me.

3-week update

DanisMatt
Well..., it has been three weeks since my surgery. Dr. Silverton told me to continue wearing the full body garment for another 6 weeks. I still feel tightness around the abdomen area and walk slightly hunched over. I find that sleeping on the recliner is much more comfortable than me bed. Once in awhile I find the need to take a pill for muscle spasms but other than that, I'm trying REALLY hard to get as much rest as possible.

Good for you! Looks nice. I’m 4 weeks out, still numbness around BB and lower abdominal area. I agree recliner is the best option
( for me anyway)I wish you continued healing

I noticed that rubbing the numb areas helps quite a bit with the healing.
Thank you!
