follow up to field subcision
WORTH IT
I've now been to Dr. Novick for a second appointment. I was trying to avoid any bruising because of something I had planned when I got home, so instead of more subcision, I only had volumizing filler done this time. I'll have more subcision done when I go back to New York for the next appointment in April. Regarding how much better it looks, I think to date I've had approximately a forty percent improvement. Dr. Novick has told me all of the procedures I'll have done require multiple treatments. The hardest part of this process is tempering my own expectations.

No, but I'm going to need more sessions of subcision and filler before there's enough improvement.

Field Subcision
I had field subcision done on both cheeks, and four individual subcisions on one temple (both with stimulatory filler). In about ten minutes of procedural work, Dr. Novick improved my scarring from awful to passable in one treatment. Granted, I won't know how much new collagen is produced as a result for about six weeks, so I'll update this review at that time. I'm also going to schedule another appointment for follow-up and have some more work done.

The total was $1775.
What is the downtime for subcision? Going to have it done and worried it’ll look bad after a week?
Field subcision done by Dr. Novick is done deeper than individual subcision, and it didn't bruise. The individual subcision are closer to the skin surface. They did bruise. I had it done Thursday morning. It's now early Sunday evening and the bruising from the individual subcisions has faded roughly 40%.
I have never heard of this before. This this a new filler? It sounds like sculptra?

The improvement you see currently is the fillers. You would probably need 3 more treatments to see some actual results. There is no downtime with Dr Novick and you could go to work the next day. I just feel his subcision is very expensive.

Hopeful! Did you have any issues with the scars re-tethering or new scar tissue from the procedure?
