Update

WORTH IT$7,700
Long time no updates so I figured I’d add some updates. Overall I would definitely have the tummy tuck again with the same doctor because my back and hip pain is gone, and my tummy and belly button still look great.

I still much more easily retain water now than I did before surgery so I don’t know what’s up with that, but the “abdominal ledge” is less noticeable so that’s improving.

I am extremely pale and when I’m cut it turns purple; if it wasn’t for that, I don’t think you’d be able to see my incision at all anymore.

I still have a bit of numbness just around the incision but it’s not much. It does make me wonder about having a BL and BA; I don’t want my breasts to be numb. I don’t care about my tummy but that would be quite odd!

I did have a consult with Dr. Stacey for a buttlift and I absolutely agree that if I get that done I will have an amazing result overall. If I have that surgery I will have had a total lower body lift done. I still just wish I had known that before my tummy tuck so I could have planned and budgeted better to have the surgeries closer together to avoid being disappointed. As it is for me right now the buttlift is on hold due to finances or else I would have gotten it done and I’d definitely use Dr. Stacey for that surgery as well!

Bummed

So I have a “dog ear” on my left side and a bit of abdominal ledge going on overall. Towards the last couple of inches on either side of the incision I can grab a handful of skin/fat when sitting and can still hold onto it when I stand up without it pulling on me when I move.
I know I look better than I did pre-op but it’s still disappointing to spend so much money and have to get more done on the same area when I was so clear about what my expectations were with every doc I saw. I feel that doctors should tell you beforehand if your goal is unrealistic or impossible. I know when I called around I said it was for a TT consult but once I’m there for my appointment if I needed other procedures to reach my goal I feel they should have informed me then.
I’ve called around to a few other surgeons to have consults to see if they say I need a lower body lift and to get a second opinion because it’ll make me feel better. One doc I had a TT consult with doesn’t do LBL so wouldn’t see me. I asked the nurse that if they thought I needed a full LBL when I had my TT consult why did that doc tell me an extended TT and lipo would take care of it? Would I be in the same situation had a chosen a different doctor? Sure seems that way.
Do they all just tell you what you want to hear when you’re there in order to get your money and then say whatever when you’re not happy afterwards to try to cover their but? Seems that way, too.
Overall it’s been a very frustrating and disappointing experience overall. I see so many ladies that have had wonderful experiences and have a great relationship with their doc and their doc really seems to care... that’s the experience I’d like to have.

I’m sorry you are not happy with your results. I’m scheduled for my TT, lipo to the flanks, and MR on 2/13/18. My stomach looks very similar to yours. Can you provide an updated photo? I hope I’m making the right decision with the path I’ve chosen and have been recommended from my PS.
From your 2 months post op pictures, your tummy looks amazing!! What went wrong?
He didn’t do lipo to my flanks; he said I didn’t need it. I went in for a second consult to see if just the tummy tuck would be enough to take care of my issues and was told I didn’t need the additional lipo for the flanks. I haven’t taken any photos recently but when I do I’ll post them :) I know I look better than before but I still have to wear Spanx in order to not have lumps and bulges under my clothes. I can’t go up in size or they’re way too big.
Hi ! I’m in Cave Springs and have a consult set with him in a few weeks. Do it still feel you have a dog ear? Bc you can’t see it in the pics you posted. Can post an updated pic? Would love to see how your incision is progressing! Thanks so much!!!!
There’s definitely still a bump on the end of the left side of my incision; it won’t be corrected until/unless I go have a buttlift done to make the incision be all the way around my body. It’s VERY minor so if I didn’t still have the love handles/side squish I wouldn’t have anything done to it. The scar itself is fading nicely. I am extremely pale and cuts turn purple for me or else I bet you couldn’t see it at all! I used the scar treatment cream that they gave me after surgery but didn’t buy more when it ran out.
Oh I see. Thank you for sharing!!

Great follow up!

Saw Dr. Stacey today and shared my frustration and disappointment. I LOVE my front and belly button but I hate my sides even worse.

He went over more detail about everything and I get where he’s coming from about all of it. I’m still bummed it couldn’t be done all at once but now that I have details I feel way better!! The office staff is all so helpful and kind, too.
