Fantastic Tummy Tuck

I have been struggling about my need for a tummy tuck for many years now. I have two girls and with gaining and losing weight I knew my stomach apron had little chance of going away. With diet and working out the rest of me would get smaller and my tummy would just get looser and hang lower. Before my surgery it hung over my upper thighs and was difficult to conceal through clothing. It got to the point where I started to feel like I was deformed. I did some research and I luckily stumbled across Dr. Richards. Words can’t explain how amazing him and his staff are! Caring, comforting, and willing to make your experience the best it can be! I was so beyond nervous going in on surgery day! But the staff was on point and everything went smoothly. I am one month post op and I finally feel like I am happy with my body. My results will only get better and better as swelling goes down too! Dr. Richards has awesome bed side manners and you’ll feel at ease in his care!

How long did you remain on the narcotics? When did you get your drains out (e.g what post-op day, etc?) Did you use a walker? What was the most painful part? THANKS!!!!

Hi!!! I got one drain out 5 days post op and the other a few days later. I used pretty much my whole perscription he gave me. But I think I got dependent on it about 2-3 weeks post op because I was trying to get out the house more but it would cause me to be sore once I got home from long walks etc. The hardest part was the first week. The first 3 days are the hardest and scariest. I didn’t use a walker but I wished I would have used one at least for the first week. It was a difficult month mentally too. Lots of ups and downs. Be prepared to keeping yourself positive. And just accept that your body is healing and you’ll need rest. I ate lots of fruits and cold pressed juices.

Also I felt nauseous pretty much the first 3 weeks straight. Everything I ate I would feel a little sick afterwards. Just eat soups and have pineapple apples easy stuff like that ready. I slept with a lot of pillows too! Also I drank water too fast and had a little coughing fit 3 days post op and it was the worst pain of my life!!!!! Please be careful drinking to avoid coughing or sneezing at all costs!!! This was honestly the worst part of the whole experience! If you avoid coughing and sneezing the rest is just taking it day by day. Also Dr. Richards and his staff are always easily contacted when I have questions about little things on swelling being sore etc. you are in great hands!

It was a longer recovery than I expected. But the best choice I’ve ever made. Great doctor and staff. Amazing results. If you are thinking about getting one just plan on about a month until you start to feel back to yourself again. :) best of wishes!

Just had my tat yesterday with Richard and I love him and his staff. No nausea and really no pain thanks to the meds. I feel great but am sleeping a lot.

Awww happy to hear you are doing well! Remember to take the first month slowly! I am a little over 6 weeks out and back to working out. When you switch compression garments I went to target...there are a lot of options there and kohl’s. Keep your head up and stay strong! Message me with any questions! Best wishes! :)

Dr Richards said more swelling will continue to go down over the next couple months but I’m already ecstatic with the results! I hadn’t seen my upper thighs in sooooo long because my stomach hung over them! Beyond happy with everything about dr Richards and his staff!

Did you get Lipo on your love handles and upper abdomen or just the tuck?
June 2, 2019
No Lipo anywhere. He did remove more skin than planned on so I think that’s how everything looks smaller too. I got a tummy tuck with muscle tightening.

You look great I need pointers I am booked 8.23.19. Do’s and don’t and pre op along with post op care ideas.

Richards just did my TT with lipo on June 11. He’s wonderful and so is his staff. I’m doing wonderfully and healing nicely. If Richards is your doc, you’ve chosen wisely!
