I’d been contemplating getting veneers for some time now, but was frustrated at how little info most practices were willing to share prior to an appointment--not all of which were complimentary. So I did my homework, and scheduled consultations at three different, well-rated practices. The first marketed himself as a bi-costal (LA-NYC) veneers specialist with an excellent sense of aesthetics (true) who used a top, well-known company as a veneers supplier; I was a bit concerned about him being absent half the time, but appreciated his spot-on opinions concerning my smile. The second was an honest and very conservative dentist who was clearly not primarily a cosmetic dentist though she did offer the service, but also used a well-known company as a veneers supplier…and I weighed the pros and cons of how much I truly needed someone with my same sense of aesthetics when I might be able to simply guide the work (the finished product), since the veneers themselves would be of top quality--and save some money. I frankly almost canceled the third appointment, with Dr Mojgan Fajiram. But I guess there was a reason I didn’t immediately schedule an appointment for a veneers fitting with the first two, as I did at the end of my last appointment—I was waiting to be offered something different. And the third, as they say, was the charm. I give this preamble because it is hard as all hell to decide on who is offering a great product vs a gimmick, particularly when everyone is so reluctant to share info via email. And it’s not like it’s a reversible procedure. Dr Fajiram is an opinionated, skilled professional with a finely tuned sense of aesthetic, who is also very concerned with the overall health of the teeth themselves. She’s local—in fact, when my temp veneers chipped, she drove in on a weekend and quickly fixed them. Also—and this is very important—she does not use a well-known supplier…she’s got people making them. Yes. Additionally, she made v clear during the initial consultation that once the veneers were ordered and I tried them on, if I did not like them, she would order them changed until I was happy (sadly, I did not make good on this offer—I loved mine right away). She is demanding of her staff, and the result is that the entire operation is top-notch and efficient. I really could not be happier—I love smiling now!!!
