Forever Grateful to Surgeon Dr. Haideh Hirmand in NYC for Facial Reconstruction After a Botched Facelift by Another Surgeon
WORTH IT
Dr. Haideh Hirmand in New York far exceeds a five star rating. She is exemplary and it is hard to put into words how grateful I am to her for her highest level of expertise, conscientiousness and attention to detail, combined with straight talk, warmth and genuine compassion. She personifies integrity and duty of care and is generous with her time. This is not just a review after one experience- she has treated me ongoing since Feb 2025 to reconstruct my face after it was severely damaged by an expensive, “instagram famous”, doctor during a facelift procedure.
The first time I met Dr. Hirmand was during an initial consultation in February 2025. I was extremely traumatized after being botched during a facial cosmetic surgery procedure undertaken by an expensive, social media famous, board certified doctor while in my 40’s. At that time, I thought I had done my research and that I was going to the best. Instead, I walked straight into the worst experience of my life. I hope that others do not make the same mistake that I made, thinking that name recognition, social media marketing and great PR hype and online persona are indicative of a surgeon’s real skill and actual patient care. I was too trusting, I fell for the grift and came out of surgery with a severely butchered face, severe unexplained volume and tissue loss, looking nothing like myself and traumatized on an emotional, physical and psychological level, with no follow up care from that surgeon. It was a nightmare and is the biggest regret of my life. I am still in medical trauma therapy to present date due to that experience.
I share that because it was in this post-surgery trauma state that I arrived for my initial consultation with Dr. Hirmand. She was nothing short of incredible. Her demeanor was demonstrative of a doctor who understands the effects of medical trauma. She was fully present and the time she spent with me most definitely far exceeded the appointment time. She actively listened and was understanding and patient. She explained what she thought had gone wrong and options for addressing the physical facial damage. It was evident her recommendations were solely made based on what she thought would be best for me as a patient only—as notably they were not the most expensive options available and certain surgical options I asked about she did not support. Since that initial consultation, Dr. Hirmand has carefully reconstructed my face with adipose matrix injections over the course of the year and a facial fat transfer under the eyes. Her level of knowledge and expertise is so evident and the results of her work in reconstructing my face is nothing short of a miracle. She brought hope when there was none and I view her as a miracle worker who has restored my faith in the medical community and is helping me heal.
Dr. Hirmand’s bio speaks for itself. For example, she has a Medical Doctorate from Harvard Medical School and completed her residency and fellowship in Plastic Surgery and subspecialty fellowships in oculoplastic and craniofacial surgery. She is Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Weill-Cornell Medical College, and a member of attending staff at various NY hospitals. She continues to conduct clinical research. In 2012, she established the regenerative medal program, SkinLabRx. She is just an all-around real deal, legitimate top surgeon. She is a champion of women. The team in her office are professional and incredibly helpful.
I wish I had a time machine and had heard of Dr. Hirmand earlier so that she could have done my initial facelift before I was severely harmed by a social media grift. However, the light at the end of the tunnel is the help and healing I have received through her excellent surgical reconstruction and patient care.
