WORTH IT
I had my FFS with Dr van de Ven in September and now, 4 months after the surgery, I would like to share my experiences. Before I start with the individual points I would like to anticipate one thing: I am very pleased with the results of my surgery. My passing has increased enormously.
The surgery:
Since my FFS was the first surgery of my life, I was very excited and scared. In the end, I didn't have to be afraid of the surgery. I was picked up very early in the morning and the anaesthesia was quickly induced. Before the operation I was given a sedative tablet which helped me a lot.
Waking up after the operation, which I was most afraid of because of the swelling, was totally relaxed. I had no pain and the nurse Sabine took care of me. I even got an ice cream and was allowed to listen to my music in the recovery room. So everything was done to make me feel comfortable.
My results:
As mentioned above, I am satisfied with the results. The surgery has improved my quality of life. I can walk out the door without having to think about whether I look male. My forehead has become very beautiful and even the wrinkles on my forehead are no longer visible (nice side effect). Occasionally I still have slight pain on my forehead scar (which is also healing quite well) and on the eye sockets. My jaw/chin has also become very beautiful, which I am particularly pleased about, as I was thinking about having it operated on immediately before the operation. The lipofilling of the cheeks has worked wonders. I now have really round chubby cheeks.
In addition, my upper lip was lifted and upper and lower lip were injected with fat. In fact, the lips are my only criticism of the surgery. Currently the upper lip is still asymmetrical (due to the lip lift). However, since 1. not everything always works perfectly with such an extensive operation and 2. Dr van de Ven will try to reduce the asymmetry by a renewed (free) lipofilling, I do not want to let this point be too much of an influence on the evaluation.
Healing phase:
The healing phase is unpleasant. I don't have to pretend to anyone. Especially the first 3 days were exhausting. In fact, I also had quite a lot of pain in my jaw (tongue and ears) and always looked at the clock to see when I could take the next painkiller.
Care:
The care immediately after the operation was fabulous, as I mentioned above. The night nurse who also took care of me during the first night after the operation was wonderful. Incredibly kind and caring (I think her name was Charlotte). A really great person and I hope she will read this.
At this point I would like to mention especially Petra, the permanent resident of the 2PassClinic. Petra is there for you around the clock, always has an open ear and a helping hand. I am grateful that I was allowed to get to know Petra and that she took such good care of me.
Another small point of criticism: The rounds on the morning after the operation were extremely short. Unfortunately the doctor was very short. I wish he had said a few words more.
The clinic in general:
The clinic is very clean and modern. In the guesthouse on the upper floor of the clinic one can relax very well. My room for the week was very spacious (room 6).
Unfortunately I have 2 small points of criticism here:
1. the room service could be improved. Unfortunately the trash can in my room was full after only 3 days and was not emptied. Also the bedclothes were not changed during the whole week what is a double pity if one could not eat very well and spill everything.
2. the meals after the operation were not always suitable. I could hardly chew and bite because of the lip lift and the jaw corrections. Sometimes there were suitable meals (smoothies, yoghurt, soup) but especially the main meals were difficult to eat. This can definitely be worked on.
Conclusion:
In spite of some minor criticism, the 2PassClinic was a great experience for me and I was really looking forward to returning to Antwerp for my follow-up (4 months after the operation). Dr van de Ven was the right doctor for me, even if he was a bit distant.

Congratulations, enjoy!
Yeah he was very distant to me as well and some others. Doesn't explain the risk and complicarions either. It's just here you go read ans off you go. Should have listened to my gut.
How was the price for the operation?

Wow, great results! Thanks for sharing your experience.
