Soooo
So much swelling has gone down
And it’s safe to say I am so happy
I had a consult with a nurse and she told me what kind of filler was used
Hyralauirc acid! Yay! Something natural!!
That makes me feel so much better!!
Also they refunded me money because I didn’t end up using any anesthesia and that was a very awesome surprise
I had a few worries
But it’s safe to say I will happily go to DR. Dickerson again
My lips look beautiful and it’s because of him :)
Still some swelling but it will be gone soon yayy :)

Second Round Fat Transfer to Lips
So I got my first procedure done with Dr. Bednar about three years ago and for the last two years I’ve been trying to get a second round of fat done to my lips with Dr. Bednar but he is so so busy that I haven’t been able to schedule appointment.
so I looked up in North Carolina to find the best doctors because I love visiting North Carolina and I found Dr. Dickerson. Dr. Dickerson had a lot of reviews so I decided that he would be my best bet. He had also done fat transfer to the face and has done it many many times after. So I felt comfortable with that.
my first initial consultation which was on the phone I was very pleased because I was overseas at the time and Dr. Dickerson made the time to talk to me during my very hectic schedule. he suggested that I get another surgery on my face that I wasn’t ready for Which was completely fine because now I know in the future that that could be an option for me.
he then went over the procedure quickly and told me that it was no big deal and I’ll be done quickly and you wouldn’t even be able to tell if there was a procedure done and that within a few days and I could go back to work. everything sounded great so I booked the appointment and paid 1000 dollars down and then paid the deposit about two weeks before my surgery
I then went to North Carolina, there are a couple women in the office that I think are absolutely fantastic I wish I knew them all my name, (it was all kind of moving a little fast for me and I’m socially anxious as it is) however there are a few really really good people that work here but there’s one or two that I don’t believe are very professional however that’s just my own opinion and I’d rather everyone have their own experiences with everyone
Anyway, I was told that my appointment was at 11 AM and I got a text message and a confirmation of the 11am appointment, and the morning of I was then told that it was going to be at noon and for me to get there at 11:30 I showed up at 11:30 and was then told that my appointment was at 1 PM
when I asked what time I was actually going to start the procedure it was a bunch of runaround questions and nobody ended up getting back to me so I ended up sitting in the waiting room for about an hour and a half before I then sat in another office to get my blood pressure done, once I got my blood pressure done it was about another 30 minutes before I actually saw Dr. Dickerson
Dr. Dickerson then went and numbed me up because I did not want to be put down because I had a 4 Hour Drive ahead of me and I didn’t want to be under any kind of painkillers or any kind of anesthesia that would make me sleepy so after about an hour and a half of waiting to all number up (after being told it would be about 30 mins) I finally got Dr. Dickerson to come check up on me
(I’ve been there since 1130 and when I had asked a couple days before how long the procedure will take I was told an hour including the numbing time ) it is now 3 o’clock at this time and I still have not gotten the procedure started.
at around 330 I am sitting there in the room with Dr. Dickerson and the nurse and about 45 minutes later the procedure is done.
some thing that I really liked about Dr. Dickerson is that because I was awake he kept me very involved in the entire process he even asked my opinion on my lips and whether or not we should put more fat in certain places he also gave me a free filler because we did not have enough fat from the section that we took (which was underneath my chin my neck) the fact that we did not have enough fat to put into my face and my cheeks I was a little disappointed at that because I thought that was the plan however the fact that he gave me ““ free “ filler I guess made it a little bit better
I don’t know what kind of filler it was I was not told so I don’t really like the idea of something foreign being in my body without knowing exactly what it is but I’m sure if I asked if I asked him in a couple weeks he would tell me exactly what was aused and if I like it I will use it again.
I do not have any implants on my body nor do I have any kind of foreign substances so again having a filler put in and not being sure what it was was a little confusing to me however I kind of feel like it was fast pace and I was afraid to ask too many questions I’m also very socially awkward and get anxious and kind of assume I’m a bother anyway, but still I felt like it was kind of rushed but maybe that’s just me I also wish that they had given me a reasonable time so I wasn’t walking around anxious not knowing how long I was about to be sitting in the waiting room I got to the office at 11:30 I ended up leaving at 445pm after being told that I would be there at 11 and be out in an hour.
if you are trying to drive anywhere far I don’t suggest it because, timing wise I don’t think that they give you enough time to actually plan your day
good thing I had a driver and everything worked out
I really loved how Dr. Dr. Dickerson was very friendly most of the time and I felt very safe with him and I almost felt like I was talking to a friend
there were a couple times where I felt pain and I felt like he was a little strict and telling me just to Breathe through it but maybe it’s just cause he was focused on the procedure I don’t know however I am a huge fan of him and if my results turn out good I will definitely be going back and I can’t wait to see how the results come out so I can provide you guys with a very thorough review

The first day I felt like hell
Dr. Dickerson said that I would be up and about and there would be no downtime however I was exhausted I was in a lot of pain because I did not take any painkillers because I wanted to be very aware in case I needed to drive because we had a 3 Hour Drive back to Charlotte and it was late in the day and my boyfriend and I hadn’t slept very well the night before hadn’t slept well the day before , my boyfriend was the one driving so I didn’t want to be any under any medication
my lips were extremely swollen but I believe that’s because of the numbing stuff that he put that in them and a very bruised up neck and the first night it was very hard to sleep
I also had to wear a chinstrap for three days which I was not told I would have to do
that kind of took me by surprise and then when I was given the chin strap I didn’t even catch how long I was supposed to wear it for so for the first couple days I just wore it as much as I could at night and I didn’t wear it during the day because I’m kind of embarrassed to wear it
I don’t know if you’ve ever seen a chin bra but they are really ugly and very noticeable I’m actually very glad for Covid because wearing a mask was a perfect excuse to hide my very swollen swollen face the only thing that I couldn’t hide with my very very bruised neck it was purple by day one to
the first day was extremely hard to eat so is at very slowly the second day however I cut everything I couldn’t eat into very very tiny pieces and ate very slowly it was hard to smile the first and second day but by day three I was able to smile a little better and now by day four I can smile it just looks really really weird and I still have duck lips
the swelling has gone down more and more each day but I cannot wait for it to finally go all the way down so I can actually see my results
I can already see a difference in the fat transfer so I’m very excited for that I just hope everything is even and that the numbing didn’t impact the way that the site was transferred we got 1.5 in my bottom and 1.5 on the other side of my bottom lip and believe we got up to 2 mL of my top lip I wanted to 2.5 but that’s OK either way I’m super excited to see how they turn out
