Tevfik Sozen presents himself as charismatic, but my experience exposed a lack of skill and integrity. I traveled from Australia after several video calls, during which Sozen outlined an extensive plan including a temporal lift, bichectomy, upper and lower blepharoplasty, lower facelift, neck lift, and revision rhinoplasty. I was very satisfied with the proposed plan for the quoted price. However, Sozen only performed a temporal lift, upper blepharoplasty, lower facelift, and rhinoplasty without adjusting the price.
The lower facelift resulted in severe bruising and swelling, and a collection of fluid under my ear that had to be drained daily for one week. Additionally, I had nerve damage to my right eyebrow, which left me unable to lift it for three months, and a large bruise on my lower back because of my position when under anaesthetic. Sozen is clumsy and careless. After returning to Australia I contacted Sozen regularly voicing concerns about the position of my eyebrows, the loose skin that remained on my lower face and the asymmetry in my nostrils. Despite Sozen’s reassurances and pressure to write a positive review, there was never any improvement.
The results were deeply disappointing. Months later, Sozen blamed the poor outcome on existing fillers, despite my clear warnings about the significant amount of filler I had in recent years and the photos I provided showing my pre-filler appearance. He had assured me the fillers would be dissolved before surgery but failed to follow through. Shifting the blame to fillers was not only unprofessional but also a deflection from his own incompetence.
Tevfik Sozen’s work was so subpar that I returned to Turkey in October to have another surgeon redo the temporal lift and perform a lower and midface lift. The improvement was dramatic with minimal bruising, impressive immediate results, and no complications.
Additionally, I am returning to Turkey in 2025 for a revision rhinoplasty, as the asymmetry in my nose is unacceptable. Tevfik’s actions do not align with his promises, and his lack of skill is evident.
Other concerning issues with his practice:
1. No operation report or discharge summary was provided.
2. During the revision facelift permanent stitching was removed from my temples, which Sozen never disclosed and I would have refused had I known.
3. While Sozen initially offered transportation, after surgery I was left to arrange my own way to post-op appointments.
What Tevfik Sozen said was included in the quoted price was a lie, as were the results he promised. Tevfik Sozen may talk a good game, but my experience shows he is not a skilled or trustworthy surgeon. I encourage anyone who proceeds to have surgery with this man have every procedure he says he is capable of doing during the operation printed on a signed agreement.
