WORTH IT
This was my third time having surgery with Amir, so I already knew what an amazing surgeon he really is. Although I was having a face lift under local anaesthetic (fully awake!) I wasn’t as anxious as I thought I would be. Having had surgery at Bella Vou before I already knew that all the staff, from the moment you walk, in are friendly, kind, compassionate and helpful and knew if I had any concerns I could raise them and they would be happy to set my mind at ease.
When I had the surgery Amir explained what was happening as he went along, chatting and making sure I was okay all the time and not feeling any discomfort under the local anaesthetic. I would definitely recommend doing it this way rather than general anaesthetic, I really felt nothing at all throughout the whole procedure. The only discomfort I did actually feel was from the injections for the local anaesthetic but this was over quickly, and again Amir made sure I was feeling okay throughout these injections.
The surgery took over two hours and to be honest I was shocked at how swollen my face was afterwards, which I really shouldn’t have been because I was warned that this could happen beforehand, so just be prepared!
Post surgery Amir came to see how I was feeling and reassured me that the swelling was only temporary, I wasn’t in pain at all, and looking in the mirror was reassured that I could see my jowls, deep laughter lines and ‘turkey neck’ sagginess had completely disappeared and was delighted to see I had a clear chin line and my heart shaped face back!
In the week that followed the swelling and bruising came out from slowly went down and I could see the results emerging more clearly and they just got better day by day.
Now three months later my incision wounds scars are barely visible and I don’t need to cover them with make up, thanks to the amazing skill of Amir.
Nobody had actually noticed that I’ve had a face lift, it’s given me more of a refreshed less tired look which I felt was becoming more obvious as I was aging. I’m now 56 but I’m told I look nearer 40 which is amazing!
