Surgery in a Few Weeks!

Surgery in a Few Weeks!

I am going in for a revision FL with a neck lift in several weeks.I met with many LA surgeons and ultimately decided to see Dr Marten.I am 100 percent confident in that decision. I met him virtually and had a face time consult . He was exactly who I was hoping for. He performed a FL on a friend and she looks amazing. I am still terrified though. So scared ,mostly about the recovery, especially concerning the fat transfer .I sort of recall looking odd for 3-4 weeks after my last surgery but have heard fat transfers take longer to heal and do not heal uniformly all this time and that it takes a long time for it to settle in . Anyone have thoughts on that? What is realistic expectation to look good? I am not sure 3 weeks is sufficient to take off work. Any advice is appreciated!

How exciting, good luck! I'm sure you will have beautiful results. I had a neck lift with Dr. Marten in 2017 and am very pleased. I'm now scheduled for a FL with him in March. Can I ask what happened with your first FL that you are now seeking a revision with Dr. Marten?
Hi ! I had a full FL in 2010 with a doctor in Bev Hills and liked outcome. He did a friend of mine tho last year and she was unhappy .I was not feeling confident in him to return Met with tons of other doctors in BH and did not like the flashy offices and arrogance of the doctors for the most part. Some were ok but wasn't feeling it and the prices were outrageous.I had read about Marten for years but did not want to travel. I finally consulted with him (online) and made my decision on the spot. I found him attentive ,accessible and extremely knowledgeable .I did not doubt my outcome at all. I was nervous about flying and covid but that is it. He did a very good job.My main issue was the bands on my neck and they are totally resolved. My jawline is cleaned up and I had fat transfer to my temples and mouth area. I do not feel that the fat really lasted and just 3 months later it seems to have absorbed, except at the temples .I knew this was a possibility . I am happy with my overall experience and was treated so well by all the aftercare nurses at Martens office. I would say my look is not dramatic at all and most people have said nothing to me about my face which is disappointing but also a relief ...my lift was very conservative and maybe wish I had more of a 'wow' look.He did what I wanted him too which is fix my neck. I highly recommend Dr Marten!
Thanks for coming back to update us! I'm so glad you had a great experience. My surgery is coming up in a month and I'm getting nervous of course. Your update was reassuring. :) Did you specifically ask for a conservative lift? I believe it's always better to err on the conservative side. So glad you are loving your new neck and jawline. Those two areas matter the most IMO.
I didn't;t ask for conservative but that us what I got. I wish it was more 'wow' in a way but very relived to look like myself and not like a different person. I am a little disappointed in the fat transfer esp. my mouth area but am so happy with my neck. Recovery wasn't great but only first 4 days were miserable. Once drains came out at day 5 I felt better. You will have a good experience and great outcome and be on the other side in no time!
Hi thegooch, can you share your recovery with me? How did you manage eating staying in a hotel room? did you have someone with you to help you in/out of bed to go to washroom or taking meds? Since one will not be able to 'chew', did you have to use a blender to eat food thru a straw?---which hotel did you stay in and do you recommend?---any issues with the 'fat grafts' besides them not lasting? any lumps/bumps?-----would appreciate any and all input!
Can you tell me the cost? I'd like to know if it's affordable. Which LA doctors did you consult with?
The cost depends on how much you are doing. The fat adds 3k onto the bill. I saw 8 LA doctors and 1 in NYC that I liked but was way too $$$$$.
I had a full facelift in September 2020. My neck had so much sagging skin every plastic surgeon I consulted said I would still have some laxity in the neck due to the extreme amount of skin. Dr. Marten was recommended to me by the doctor who did my facelift. Please let me know if you are happy with the results you achieve. When is your surgery scheduled?
Dr Marten did a great job on my neck. I had very strong neck bands that were awful and he fixed them.I would certainly consult with him.He is the top doctor in his field.
Yes, see my updates. He did a good job on my neck.I would trust him to do a great job.
I am wondering if any of you have seen any of his recent work? I am choosing between Dr Marten and another doctor in LA. The only concern I have is Dr Marten's age is older than my ideal age. But I have heard that as long as he takes care of himself, it's still preferred to go to someone with a great recent track record. What are your views on that?
I had a FL with him December 2020 and had a great experience. I recommend wholeheartedly.
He is not old at all .His experience makes him the best. The young doctors in LA were gross to me and all their glitz. It seemed like smoke and mirrors ... go to the best. For me there was no doubt. He did a friend of mine and her outcome was gorgeous.
Hi there! Curious how your FL went with Dr. Marten? Which Procedures did you end up having. Thanks!
I had a neck and FL with fat transfer. I am happy with my neck, he did a great job getting rid of the bands. I the FL was very conservative and I may go back for more .
