Is This the Result of Large Submandibular Glands?

$15,000
These images are 6 months after a face and neck lift. I'm extremely disappointed with the result of my neck. My ps explained to me that the outcome was the best he could do because of my oversized submandibular glands. If anyone has had a similar result and then had a revision with a resection of their submandibular glands, I'd be very interested in knowing who did your procedure.

My opinion is that your surgeon is making excuses. I had the same issue where my neck looks worse than before surgery. My doctor simply left the room when I voiced my concerns and had his front office send me a "rebate" check for $4,000...which would not cover a revision. I believe mine was caused by insufficient drains placed and the fluid that built up caused perment tissue damage.
Thank you so much for responding. I appreciate you mentioning the drains. I actually had an incident with my drains, too, but was unaware (until you mentioned it here) that they might be the cause of my poor outcome. After my first follow-up appointment, his assistant emptied the bags but never reopened the valves. When I went back 5 days later, they noticed the closed valves and tried to blame me for closing them! I didn't even know the devices had valves! Personally, I feel that my outcome is due more to poor technique and inadequate lifting than faulty drains. I think he also removed too much sub-platysmas fat, resulting in what most refer to as a cobra neck. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond and will research insufficient drains to see if there's a relation between the drains and my outcome. Thanks again!
Mike Nayak in St. Louis MO is a neck and face surgeon who specializes in the correction of this condition/result. He is on Instagram with extensive videos, etc., of his work and thoughts. Double board certified, very well respected. Talented guy!
Thank you so much for the recommendation, dsehi! I will look into him!
During my initial consultation my ps told me that to achieve my desired result that I would need to have my glands shaved down (not his term but mine) because they were large. After lots of research I agreed and had that done as part of my procedure. It's my understanding that it's a very challenging procedure that not all ps do or are comfortable doing (or it's out of their realm of experience or training). Perhaps that's why he didn't do or recommend initially. My ps was amazing and is in Orange County, CA. Dr. Timothy Miller.
Thank you for your comment, katie143grace! I'll look into Dr. Timothy Miller. :)
