Day 9 post op

WORTH IT$12,000
There was not a lot of difference in looks or sensation between days 4-7, so I didn't post pics or update. As I mentioned earlier, there was no pain, but more discomfort from feeling pulled and numb. Also, sleeping almost upright is the only way I feel comfortable at the moment. I take Tylenol during the day, and at night take a xanax to help me relax enough to sleep. Today I am feeling less pulled, but still numb. I think some of that has to do with having most of the sutures removed yesterday. I washed my hair for first time... very carefully, and that was an emotional pick me up. I haven't had any of the depression some people describe, but I have had my daughters, sons and husband and pets to keep me occupied and time has really gone fast! If I wanted to I could go shopping or out to dinner and look good, but I don't feel up to it yet. When the numbness and pulling subside and smiling isn't such an effort (lol!) I'll venture out. I've had minimal bruising and really happy with how everything is healing.

Day 3 and going into Day 4 post-op

Yesterday I removed the gauze head wrap and washed with soap and water, then cleaned around sutures with peroxide/water mix for first time. Afterwards, added ointment provided by doctor.and face felt tight and still looked swollen, but not too sore. You can see the marks on my skin from the bandages in these pics which were taken immediately after I removed them. I stopped taking RX meds during day and put on the elastic face/chin support. This morning, Day 4 post op, I woke up with discomfort from swelling in my neck and soreness behind ears. I am starting to get more feeling in my face and it doesn't feel quite as numb. I've been up for an hour and swelling is less bothersome. Leaving the elastic strap on and will take more pics around Noon, to be consistent with timing.

1 Day post surgery

I’m feeling much better than I thought I would today - definite discomfort, but no pain. Surgery was yesterday and lasted approx 4 hours. I spent 3 hours in recovery because I was too sleepy to leave! Anesthesia did their job! Felt numb rest of day and night. Wasn’t until this morning that I started to feel pulling, stinging around my ears, jaw and mostly under my chin. I guess that’s because all the local anesthesia wore off. Went in today for a bandage check because I had a bruise on side of my neck. Doctors says it is very superficial and no worry. My daughter took a pic of me from across the room of my very swollen but very smooth neck! Will post closer ones on Saturday when I can remove head bandages and graduate to nighttime only sling. I’m really excited! So for did say I may get more swelling and bruising, but that should start going down by the weekend. Sri he’s due to be looked at late next week; will remove if all looks healed.
