- This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
- Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.

So scared
I am so scared that this expanding swelling on my right cheek is a hematoma that needs to be drained. My doctor keeps saying it’s not - and the 2 lumps on each side of my neck, under each ear, are also not hematomas. Even though his surgery assistant with years of experience said Monday they were, and should be aspirated.
I’m so worried I’ll be left with permanent bumps and lumps on my face that were never there before, if these aren’t drained.
How can the doctor tell the difference between normal swelling and hematoma? Everything I read says hematoma is an emergency and needs to be treated right away to prevent permanent damage.
Ugghhh. I’m gonna text dr at 7 am and ask exactly how this is normal swelling and not an expanding hematoma. What’s the difference?
I’m sick about this. If I can’t get a straight answer I’m going to try to see a doctor down here today for a second opinion, to rule out hematoma.

Finally got to wash my hair!
Couldn’t wash hair til tonight, day 5, but it feels so much better now! I was scared to wash it with all the staples and stitches, but I tried to be very gentle, and it’s strange / there’s almost no sensation or at least pain, around the sutures. I was afraid they’d hurt but they’re mostly numb, which is a good thing right now!
I will say, having removed the ace bandage yesterday, my head had a really weird shape, like an egg, so much more swollen at the bottom and smaller up top. It’s evened out a little more today but still looks funny. All good though :)

Day 5 update
Days 2 & 3 were rough bc Tylenol 3 with codeine made me throw up till I figured it out and stopped taking it. Combo of no food for a few days, bad sleep, not feeling good emotional low point.
Today, day 5, physically & mentally feeling much much better. But - now I’m scared by this weird swelling that started yesterday & got worse today. I’m afraid it’s a hematoma & if it doesn’t get drained I’ll have this huge bump thing on my face bc I read that scar tissue develops under a hematoma if it’s not addressed right away.
I sent my dr pics and he called and assured me it’s just normal swelling, but the ridge doesn’t seem normal to me. Like, why is it there? I’ve never seen normal swelling with a ridge like that.
Probably freaking out over nothing but it’s got me scared tonight. :(
On the whole, though, I’m loving the results. My smile lines and jowls are totally gone. Nasolabial folds mostly gone too. My whole face I feel like looks younger. Not long and sagging anymore.
I need to focus on the good parts & trust that this is really just normal swelling that’ll go away. Fingers crossed!
