Still recoverin, as expected :) Post 4 weeks update.
My recovery is slowly, but surely progressing :) Every week there is less swelling, less hardness around my face. In my case the swelling is mostly on the other side of the face, which is quite common. The swelling is peaking in the mornings, and slowly subsides a bit towards the afternoon.
The tight look I had still 3 weeks post op, has slowly started to relax too.
I still keep my long hair open, to cover the insicions behind and in front of the ears, as they are now reddish in their colour. This covers up the swelling on the sides a bit as well.
My insicions are healing also on different pace, the right side faster than the left.
I´m still taking it easy in terms of doing sports. I have not resumed to my actual sports activities and weekly excercise routines yet, as they are physically very demanding, and I´m concerned they might impact the early healing process. So I will wait, and see, how I feel after 6 weeks.
It seems there are diffrerent days, and sometimes you take 1 step forward, and then 2 backwards. I´ve read this is fairly common, and it´s part of the recovery process.
If you are considering a Deep plane facelift, I´d say, be realistic and very patient with your recovery. It is not gonna necessarily be easy and fast.
Prepare yourself mentally:
Daily life will be a bit more complicated in the early weeks( 1-4). For example washing your hair: You have to be very careful with the fresh wounds, brushing your hair, blowdrying etc. Everything takes so much more time. Applying the sticky antibiotic ointment( if your surgeon recommends it) makes the hair oily, and it´s hard to get it off.
Eating( especially hard foods, salads, or food that require you to open your mouth wide) , laughing and smiling has been a bit difficult for me in the early weeks. It was just very uncomfortable, feeling extremely tight. I was mainly eating soups.
Now, at this 4 week post op mark, this seems to be improving rapidly, which I´m very happy about.
I´m still sleeping my head up, in a sitting position. This helps with the swelling, but has a huge impact on my sleep. I´m quite sleep deprived at the moment to be honest. :)
So if you´re considering a facelift operation, prepare for that as well.
At this 4 weeks post op mark, I still have lots of strange sensations around my face: numbness, hardness, tingling( nerves healing) ear pain, ear sensitivity etc.
But a good sign is, every week I´m getting better :)

High Quality Experience
I had a Deep plane facelift + Neck lift at Dr.Ali Riza´s clinic in Istanbul.
I chose the clinic based on doing months of research and reading reviews, and it was all worth it. I think its extremely important to choose the right clinic.
My overall experience from the very start of my facelift journey was very positive.
Communication with the clinic was easy. We used WhatsApp, and replies came always very fast.
We were in contact months before the actual operation. This was my first plastic surgery procedure, and as I was coming from overseas and flying for this operation to a foreign country, I had naturally a lot of questions and concerns. But it all turned very well :)
Consultation
My 1st face to face consultation with the doctor and the team was important for me. We discussed my wishes and thoughts regarding the final results, and doctor gave me his recommendations. I also got lots of realistic information from him regarding the upcoming procedure, also the risks. Deep plane facelift is not a small procedure, and the overall recovery was gonna take months.
The clinic
The clinic is very nice and stylish.
Its located in a central part of Istanbul, in a charming historical building, and is very easy to reach by cab.
There are lots of boutiques, restaurants and cafes around the neighbourhood.
The customer care team and staff at Dr. Ali Riza´s Clinic were extremely kind and caring.
From the day one, I felt like I was in good hands and I was taken care of.
I’m very pleased and happy for the customer service experience overall.
The procedure
Dr. Ali Riza did amazing job.
He is a very skilled surgeon, and I’m very happy with the outcome so far.
My jowels and nasolabials are gone, and I now have a lot more youthful look.
No matter the swelling, I can already see some of the results. My surgical wounds are healing well, and everything looks good and clean.
I got want I wished for, and during the upcoming months, as I heal properly, its gonna look great!
I’m considering going back in the future, for some smaller procedures, like fat crafting, or perhaps upper eyelids.
Hospital
My procedure was done at the modern Memorial Bachelievler -hospital.
I had a private room for myself, and the nurses were taking very good care of me after the surgery.
Also Dr.Ali´s assistant was visiting me at the hospital several times, to check up on how I’m doing and to make sure everything is ok.
Recovery
Its now only 10 days after my surgery, but I think I am recovering very well :) I continue to be in touch with the clinic, to keep them updated with my post op recovery :)
I still have lots of swelling and a lot of tightness, jaw ache especially on the sides of my face, and as said, the overall tissue level recovery is gonna take months. This is all normal part of recovery.
Eating hard foods, like nuts, raw vegetables etc. is a bit tough at the moment, since my muscles around the face are still a bit sore, so I mostly eat soups and smoothies.
But I already look almost presentable, and with a little bit of covering makeup, and my hair down + a scarf around my neck, I’m gonna head back to work tomorrow :) I didn’t bruise too much, just a slight yellowish tone on the sides, that is very easy to cover with gin pigment makeup.
Very happy, and looking forward seeing my final results in the future!
