Things don’t go as planned, but thrilled with the overall results

When Things Don’t Go As Planned….

OhioGirl2022
WORTH IT$8,000
Everyone hopes that their procedure goes perfectly. Unfortunately, mine did not go as planned. Not because of anything the Doctor did, it was just how my body reacted. Dr. Taylor and her staff were absolutely amazing throughout the entire process (consultation, prep, the surgery, and post-op) but I can’t say enough about how well they dealt with the complication post-op.
Dr. Taylor and her staff would see me frequently to check on progress and give advice on how to more quickly resolve the hematoma I developed post-op. Six weeks out, I’m still working through some hematoma aftermath, but am out an about and no one seems to notice the slight swelling and bruising that is still resolving.
And, I am BEYOND THRILLED with the overall results. I had what Dr. Taylor calls a “Smart Lift” which isn’t a full facelift. However, it completely corrected the areas of aging that I was most unhappy with; my mouth area and my neck. The best part is, when I’m on zoom calls (we are still mostly remote for work due to Covid) for the past two weeks I keep getting compliments like, “wow - you look great today!” Or “you must have gotten a good night of sleep - look at you!”.
Honestly, I need to use two hands to count the number of times someone has said something in the past two weeks - and I don’t work in an environment where it is a cultural norm to comment on someone’s appearance.
When I went in for my first consultation, Dr. Taylor told me that I was doing this at the right time for me (early 50s) because she anticipated I’d have great results and that no one would suspect surgery was involved. Dr. Taylor is one wise woman! That is exactly how it has gone down.
One thing to note: if you are not upfront with everyone about what you are doing, you really do need two weeks before you show your face to anyone. I was fortunate to have my procedure during the winter months (and a pandemic) when it’s easier to not be out and about.
But that’s only two weeks! Then you can start to show your new lovely face and walk around with all the confidence that this type of transformation brings. Of course, results are not permanent. Procedures don’t stop aging. But I’ll be pretty happy when I’m a 60 year old walking around looking like a 50 year old. In fact, I’ll probably do it again when I turn 60. Even if there was another hematoma complication in the cards.

I am trying to decide where to go, can you tell me how much your smart lift was?

Sure - it was 8k

You look fantastic! If I mayy ask, did you have a neck lift as well? I'm also in my early 50s and the surgeon I consulted mentioned doing both lower face lift + neck lift, but my neck is ok-ish for now, and because of the price, I'm thinking of only doing the face lift (10K).

Thanks for the compliment! The lift I received was focused mostly on the cheek area, but secondarily on the neck. You can search “SmartLift Dr Anne Taylor” on YouTube to watch a video that will explain more and show a portion of the surgery.

I know why you went through bc I also had a hematoma 11 days after my lift. It was a terrifying experience and I thought I was going to die. I still not know how or why I got a hematoma and my ps says it's the worst one he's ever seen in his 25 years.

Well I just had my surgery 11 days ago and I have a hematoma as well. I still am terrified. It’s not n my neck behind my ear and pretty hard. I go see the ps tomorrow again. I’m sorry you girls had to go through it but it’s nice to know I’m not alone.

You are not alone! Stick to the healing protocol given to you by your surgeon. Mine included a lot of massage throughout the day (which was easy to remember because I kept reaching to feel my hematoma anyhow). At 10 weeks post-complication it is barely noticiable now, although I can still feel some tenderness and some hardness in the area. I guess these nasty things take a while to heal!

thanks Ohiogirl. Im just over 3 weeks post op now. My little friend has started to reduce a bit but I still look a little freaky. Good thing I have big hair.lol. My doc said to massage as well and I do try but its not pleasant to rub. yuck! I will keep it up though. Thanks again for your positivity and I look fwd to getting back to my new normal. Btw your neck/jawline looks amazing!
