I’m really upset

I was set to leave for Antalya Turkey, August 5 and have surgery on August 7 with Dr.onur . I had already had my concerns leading up to this surgery because I many unanswered questions that his coordinator was not getting back to me on.. this all could’ve been rectified if a simple letter was sent out (to me and all patients)on things to do or not to be doing leading up to the days of surgery ! I have as set to have :facelift, neck lift, upper eyes, breast lift with implants. I asked his coordinator several times for a list of things that I should be doing or not be doing before surgery since I had no idea. I did some searching for another member of his team -Haley that helped answer questions which was great.
Now…Unfortunately 36 hours/the day before I was leaving, i was called by his surgical coordinator Ayse that Dr. Onur had an accident and broke his arm -she told me to cancel My flight-which was nonrefundable and was $1300usd. I also had a deposit down to hold my surgery spot.. I tearfully left messages to the coordinators and the doctor - expressing my situation-“not knowing where to go from here” and would I get my money back, what am I supposed to do! ? There was no suggestion of another surgeon I could possibly either. Nothing -There was no explanation on what to do and definitely no reimbursement of the money for my plane ticket , or the money I put down (I’ve had to ask several times now) and I feel beyond upset. Maybe they’re unaware of how much goes into preparing to fly halfway across the world to get a surgery like this? the money I had to come up with(wanted all in cash however you can only take 10,000usd so I had to continually ask how I could pay for the rest -which was in itself very unorganized of them), I had to take three weeks off of work, mentally prepared for all of this. And I just feel like I’ve gotten completely ghosted by them. People in his chat room have reached out to me and said how awful this is -to be “left in the dust” .. I am very sorry that he broke his arm, but if it were me as as the surgeon that broke my arm. I would most definitely be reaching out to my patients and help them financially with anything that they needed! I’m really upset with how this whole situation was handled, and yes this uncharted territory for them but it was for me as well -and I’m the one that got screwed.
