Feeling Concerned

I spent the extra money to go to “the best” & I have a friend that had incredible lasting results. I am now 5 weeks post-op and I’m very concerned. The internal stitches have not dissolved so I have two “chords” of pulled skin on the back of my next that don’t allow me to sleep. The objective was to recover my jawline and I don’t have jowls but my lower face is abnormally full -Marlon Brando-ish. I had fat transfer & I am concerned it’s a case of being “overfilled”. I’ve been told it’s swelling but other areas of my face are no longer swollen. I have the face of a woman that weighs 50 lbs more. My neck is still very tight, swollen & bruised such that I cannot go out. I’ve read so many case of looking great in 3 weeks. I’m very concerned that instead of being a good looking older woman i will end up looking like an unattractive chubby younger woman. I’m just told to wait but no one else seems to have taken this long.

I'm so sorry that you're feeling this way. Can you post photos? Have you voiced your concerns to your surgeon? I've been using this app to do pre-facelift research (I'm still in the consideration stage), and unfortunately, there are a couple of supposedly "the best" doctors with very unhappy patients who've bravely shared their experiences here. I hope you're just having a longer time healing than you'd anticipated. Sending my best wishes.
Yes it is true. I also had bad experience. Do your research carefully.
Thank you. I have. He focuses on the fact I look younger & says I am still healing, without committing to any position on whether or not these issues will resolve.
I have just read your post, I do hope that your issues have resolved now. Let me know if you'd like to discuss further. Take care.
I was wondering if your swelling has resolved. I was thinking about getting a fat transfer to my face and I am concerned about my face looking too chubby since sometimes they have to overfill and all the fat stays in place. Please let me know your experience. Thanks
I am 1.5 years out & unfortunately I don’t have much to report wrt the fat graphs or the FL, but to focus on the fat graphs: the fat in my upper lip & my cheeks I’d say is mostly or all gone. I have bags under my eyes that I didn’t have before which is likely related. As for the “chipmunk cheeks”, when I cried at my check up he injected 3 shots of kenalog into each “nut”, and within a week they appeared to be gone. Unfortunately I think that’s also what extended to some of the other areas. My aging was such that i had sagging skin. Very thin. Now I look like I am aging like someone 50 lbs heavier. It changed the shape of my face so it’s square. The fat pulls down the sides of my mouth into a constant frown. I wish I had better news. I wasn’t warned at all about the inconsistent results with fat graphs. I’d actually never heard of them but my surgeon said it “wasn’t optional” & so I figured it was tried & tested. How naive!
I meant i don’t have much positive news to report.
@Youngerat50, Sorry to hear you don't have any improvement but don't give up. He should have never injected Kenalog into your cheeks. Have you tried using filler which is more predictable to build up your cheeks?
The fat graphs are the least of my concerns. My FL was done too tightly & I have the constant tightness at the headstrap & pulling behind the ears that many others have commented having. Once you realize that you paid thousands of dollars in hard earned savings just to end up with constant pain, your looks don’t matter at all anymore. You just want your life back. So many on here are in the same boat.
He didnt inject kenalog into my cheeks, but in the two “nuts” on either side of my mouth. I’m actually glad he did that. It’s bad now but the fat on the sides of my mouth would have been more excessive had he not done that. I think he fell short & likely should have injected more.
