My Face and Cat Eye Lift Experience at TheTime Plastic Surgery (After Experiencing Sagging from Face Contour)

WORTH IT
Hi!
I just wanted to share my face and cat eye lift at TheTime plastic surgery with you guys!~
When I had face contour surgery in 2019, I was told that there would be little to no sagging because of my age (I was 20 at the time). However, I unfortunately ended up with some pretty massive sagging, probably because I got A LOT of bone shaved on top of having really thin skin and also having chin liposuction. I had a threadlift about two months after the procedure, but it was honestly a complete waste of money. The results only lasted about a month, and I am being generous.
I assumed that the sagging I was experiencing was fat and that my face had become chubbier from having less surface for the fat to lay on after the procedure, so when I moved to Korea in 2020 I got a consultation for acculift. However, the doctor said I should not do it because I had too much extra skin and too little fat for the procedure to give satisfactory results. The clinic I consulted with suggested a treadlift or a midface lift, but I did not want to waste money on a threadlift again, and I was worried about getting a facelift at 21 years old because I had never heard of anyone my age doing it.
I ended up getting fat melting injections and an ulthera laser treatment, which helped a bit but didn't really give me satisfactory results either. In February I finally decided, after trying everything else, to go ahead and do the facelift and be done with my sagging problem once and for all. I decided to go to TheTime because my friend also did her facelift there after her face contour, and her results looked great.
I was originally thinking of only doing a mini facelift (where they only pull and cut the skin), but I was told that the only way to get rid of the sagging permanently long term was to go for the full lift (where they pull the muscle as well) and so I decided to do it since I was going to go through surgery regardless, as well as doing a cat eye brow lift at the same time.
My surgery with dr.Lee was on February 10, before the procedure the clinic provided a facial cleansing treatment, and then I met with the doctor again in order to review my desired results and so that I could ask my questions. Then I went into the surgery rooms, the nurses and the doctor were all very friendly and comforted and calmed me down because I was quite stressed out.
When I woke up I got brought to a private resting room where I was told I could stay until I felt good enough to go back home. I was a bit groggy so I stayed there for about half an hour and then I left because I just wanted to be at my home in my own bed. The consultant waited for me until I was ready to go back home and then called me a taxi.
Usually after a facelift one removes the bandage after a day, but since I got my surgery the day before a four day public holiday in Korea I had to wait three days before I could get my bandage removed. I was quite swollen for the first two days after the procedure, and since I looked a little bit crazy with the bandage and the swelling I just stayed in my room until I could get my bandage removed on the 13th. My face was not really painful, but the recovery was a little bit uncomfortable because of the swelling and because it was itchy.
On day 3 after my procedure I returned to the clinic to get my bandage removed, and it was a shock to see my face with all the bruises and the scar on my face but it was also a relief to realize that there was almost no more swelling at all. I thought it looked really bad then, but after returning home and washing my hair and applying makeup (I was supposed to wait a day before doing that, but I was really eager to see what I would look like put together) I was honestly stunned by how great my results looked already. Most of the swelling was already gone, and my face looked sooo much smaller and slimmer (actually my profile picture was taken that day).
Even though I still had the stitches in my head and my face was bruised I was able to return to my normal life after that (and I assume I would have been able to go out even sooner if I had removed my bandage before). I was really surprised at how quick and easy recovery was for my facelift, because I had imagined it would be a very invasive procedure; however, I do tend to heal quicker than other people generally do after surgery.
I returned to the clinic on the 15th, and the clinic provided both a laser treatment and oxygen capsule session to help with deswelling. The doctor also checked my scar, but it was too early to remove my stitches. Since I was going for the rest of the week I came back to the clinic a week later, got half of my stitches removed as well as more deswelling treatments, and then came back again a few days later to remove the rest of my stitches and do another deswelling treatment.
I am now just over three weeks post-op and I am pretty sure I have close to none selling left. The sides of my face are still a little bit numb, but apart from that I feel absolutely back to normal. Most of the scar is hidden on my hairline, and the part which isn’t is almost invisible already.
All in all I am extremely satisfied with my experience at the clinic. The experience felt really personal because I got to interact a lot with the doctor even after the aftercare sessions, and I got taken care of very well by the whole staff during the whole process. The aftercare was also really good, and my results (which is the most important after all) are really really good and I look really natural (which is exactly what I wanted). My only regret is not going for the lift earlier and wasting so much money on non-invasive lifting procedures that didn’t work.
