My experience of multiple cosmetic procedures in Turkey

UPDATED FROM Trulyjulie

The Night before...

It is the evening prior to surgery. I arrived in Kusadasi yesterday afternoon and was met at the airport by the lovely Tracey and a male driver. My flight was delayed by almost an hour but they had waited for me. It had been a long and arduous journey and, after a boat trip and two flights, I was just so happy to have arrived.

I had been speaking to Tracey, via Skype video call, weekly for some time as part of the counselling sessions that you have to commit to once surgery has been booked. These ensure that any questions are answered and that you are always fully informed as to all pros/cons for every aspect of your journey.

Once we were at my accommodation (part of the package I booked) I was also introduced to the other members of the team who, up til this point had just been names at the end of an email.

I have been allocated two people to care for me while in Turkey. Star who is English of Turkish heritage (and acts as translator) and also Bev.

I feel immediately at ease with this team and confident that I have made the right decision.

My apartment is lovely - two bedrooms with balcony and kitchen. It's ideal as, once checked out of the clinic, it will be my Base to recuperate. The additional bedroom will serve for Star to use if, once out of the clinic, I want her to stay with me.

Today I have been escorted to the clinic for tests. Chest x-ray, ecg and bloods. These have been passed onto the anesthetist who I will meet tomorrow. The remaining of the morning was passed in the company of Bev who accompanied me to a local food market to stock up for my recovery

This evening I will be on 'nil by mouth' in preparation for tomorrow's procedures which will be: face lift, Upper and lower eyes, rhinoplasty and fat transfer.
I expect to be in the clinic for 2/3 days

My experience of multiple cosmetic procedures in Turkey

Firstly I am not insane and secondly 'yes' I have heard the horror stories about horrendous surgery 'gone wrong' abroad. However, as the bad experiences undoubtedly get shared more than the good ones, and having a limited budget to attain my surgery goals, I have decided to look past the stigma of surgery abroad and see if I could find myself an adept surgeon at a good price. This is my experience. The good. The bad and the ugly......
