Disappointing Outcome

I had a lower facelift and liposuction under my chin in 2022 by Dr. James Bonaparte, Ottawa Derm Centre. I was not pleased with my jowls and excessive skin sagging under my chin and Dr. Bonaparte agreed. Over the course of 2 1/2 years and many appointments, I had revision plastic surgery, CO2 laser resurfacing, steroids and filler injections, as well as an in-office surgical procedure to try to lift the skin under my chin. None of these procedures resolved my concerns. Every step of the way, Dr. Bonaparte agreed with me that the results were not what was expected and he continued to suggest other procedures/treatments. During my last appointment in 2025, Dr. Bonaparte and I came to an agreement for a $5,000 reimbursement, subject to approval by the Ottawa Derm Centre team. Surprisingly, this reimbursement was NOT approved. I subsequently attended an in-person meeting with Richard Levesque, one of the owners of the ODC and Heather, Administration Manager. Mr. Levesque outlined the considerable amount of money already expended by the ODC in an effort to correct the issues with my face and under my chin and advised he would not consider any financial reimbursement, even though Dr. Bonaparte agreed one was warranted. Me. Levesque was of the opinion that my surgery had an acceptable outcome. Because my lower facelift and subsequent procedures did not have the results that I expected, I cannot recommend Dr. Bonaparte for any facelift plastic surgery. On a positive note, Dr. Bonaparte is a kind, caring plastic surgeon. It's unfortunate and disappointing that the Ottawa Derm Centre did not support him in this matter.
