Facelift, Brow Lift
WORTH IT
Well, I’ve booked and paid for my upcoming surgery. To say I’m nervous (but excited) would be an understatement! I have high hopes for the highly recommended and “natural “ results that my surgeon provides. I wanted to document the journey, I really appreciated it when I read others experiences and especially before pictures with video. So you can see how the face moves. I’m doing this (on the crest of 55 not to look 30 but the best version of myself I can be, so, fingers crossed!I’ve met with the surgeon once, and the Coordinator twice. We reviewed what would be best for my face and when I met with the surgeon I found him to explain what he recommended and he put me at ease. I went back into the office to see a few results and was ready to pull the trigger. In the days of mask-wearing, no one will probably even remember what I looked like before! Haha

Hi Davesgirl, I am 52 and my facelift/browlift is scheduled for the 20th. In fact, my pre-op visit is Tuesday, the same day you get your procedure. I will be sure to check in and see your results, wishing you the best of luck! I am sure you will have a wonderful outcome. I am nervous but excited--overall I am grateful to have the opportunity.

End of week one post op.
Had my surgery April 13, Everything went to plan, nerves of course spiked a little before, but the staff at the Lindsay House we’re all great it’s settling my nerves, answering my questions, and making me know I was in good hands. I’ve slept a lot this week recovering, my face is changing hour by hour. It’s kind of comical. There hasn’t been a lot of pain with the incisions on my face. I will say the most challenging thing has been trying to eat or drink the first couple of days. They used a tube in my throat while being operated on and it must’ve irritated and swelled because when I would try to drink it would feel like the liquid is going down the wrong pipe for the first day. The doctors office quickly help me resolve the problem by tipping my head forward when I swallowed and now it’s not an issue. Still no appetite this week, that must be par for the course. My voice is also a little strange (I’m thinking from the tube) I would definitely say you need someone to be taking care of you for a couple of days. My husbands been a total rockstar! Protein drinks and chicken stock has been good options for me. Around day four my eyes were so swollen I could barely see out of them, but like I said it keeps changing where the swelling is, and I get glimpses of what is to come. It’s feels so vulnerable and funny posting these pictures but if we are all here to support each other and help us make the best decisions for ourselves what’s the point of any of it. Today I’ve been a little blue, there have been a couple of times I was feeling really good and overdid and paid for it. I’m trying to take it easy. Although it hasn’t been so painful it’s a lot for your body to recover from.

Wow! You look great already! I’m sure it’s so hard going through the first stages of healing but I can already visualize your end result / and it’s going to be an excellent result. You still look like “you” even with all the bruising and swelling. Can’t wait to see your next update!

Had my surgery March 30 2021. Lower face neck and CO2 laser. I have to say it was no walk in the park. Little sleep for 4 days as you can’t sleep in your side with stitches and laying on your back hurt with the stitches down the back of your head. Everyone seems to say recovery was a breeze. But, I have to say it is not that easy. I also feel like I have been clotheslined with such a tight neck. But I was assured this would loosen up. All in all the surgeon did an amazing job, but it is surgery and it takes a while to recover.
One helpful tip is get an airline pillow for sleep. Your ear can rest in the hole when you’re on your side. No pressure on stitches.

I agree I can’t imagine taking this on 20 years from now, it’s a lot and I’m a girl who treasures her sleep, which has not been easy this second week
