Not Worth It

The hospital had no record of me and didn’t know why I was arriving for surgery the morning of - they didn’t know where to direct me so I had to text the doctor through WhatsApp for instructions from the hospital lobby. The IV was a painful experience because they let a trainee do it. I woke up in a dark room - what looked like the basement of the hospital - with a nurse on duty who was fast asleep. Upon waking from surgery, Dr Henriquez told me “the surgery took longer than expected therefore you now owe $1200 USD additional to the total cost of surgery” and that he “prefers this gets paid before leaving the hospital” and did not take the IV out of my arm until he received the $1200 payment. Ultimately, his work was crooked. I should’ve gone to Turkey instead.
