Okay Results, but Felt Rushed and Unsupported After Surgery

I had a facelift with Dr. Quatela almost a year ago. Overall, the results are just okay. I did this at 39 hoping for a refreshed, natural look that I could age into. Instead, the lift feels too aggressive. My face looks overly tight, my eyes appear squinty, and I have more of a pulled or windblown look than I wanted. I was clear that I didn’t want to look like I’d had surgery, especially at my age, but that wasn’t the outcome.

Dr. Quatela was kind during the initial consultation, but that was the only time I met with him. Every other appointment was with interns or nurses. The nursing staff felt very young and inexperienced, and the overall bedside manner was lacking. I often felt rushed, and during recovery my concerns were repeatedly brushed off with “this is normal” rather than being met with real listening or support after a major surgery.

If you’re looking for an involved surgeon and a team that truly listens and follows through, this is not the place. Once payment is made (which is high for the level of care and outcome), communication drops off significantly. Follow-ups were difficult to schedule, and only one post-op visit was actually with Dr. Quatela. While he is clearly experienced, his approach felt more old-school, and not well matched to someone seeking a subtle, modern result.
